Milky Bar Moments
Advantages: A new variation on the Minstrels idea.
Disadvantages: Could get a bit too sickly!
I am always on the lookout for new treaty bits for me and the hubby to munch, well more him as I am desperately trying to lose weight in 7 weeks for my brothers wedding, hey ho!
My husband has always been more of a fan of jelly sweets and such, but if eating chocolate he tends to veer towards the white variety with me preferring the bitterness of the dark sort.
This being the case after seeing these on offer recently at my local Asda I knew he would enjoy them immensely and I wouldn't be jealous that he has sweets and I didn't! Win - win!
The product I will now review is - "Milkybar - white moments by Nestle".
These particular sweets come within there own stand up 175g bag, this of course some with it's own re-sealable sticker incase you don't eat them all in one sitting, which has never yet happened!
On the pale yellow bag is all the relevant information expected, brand name, product name, description, nutritional information and finally a delicious looking picture of the product within, which to me look just like white minstrels.
Once the top has been ripped away, you are faced with a bag with around 30-40 minstrel sized pale yellow sweets, with a sweet yet subtly creamy scent emanating from the bag.
The sweet itself is a white chocolate centre surrounded with a crisp yellow sugar shell, which even to someone that is not a huge fan of white chocolate is delicious sounding and looking!
The taste is actually really lovely, the shell is sweet but with little else in the way of flavour, this in turn allows the creamy taste of the white chocolate to come through untainted by other flavours, though I do think that personally this is one chocolate treat I would struggle eating a huge amount of, my husband has no problems demolishing the entire bag.
The nutritional information is as follows -
Per ¼ bag,
30.3g of which sugars,
6.1g of which saturates.
Allergy advice states that these may contain traces of nuts and peanuts.
One other point is how the ingredients are listed, once an item is listed there is then a small sentence explaining where each derivative is from, this runs from the cows milk through to more technical sounding additives, I found this very informative.
Price wise these were purchased for £1.00 from www.asda.com, but at full price are available from around £1.30 onwards.
