Advantages: Lovely taste
Disadvantages: Not as bubbly as I thought it'd be
Nestle Aero Bubbles is, in my opinion, one of the interesting invention in the chocolate industry. I love chocolate but I'm very picky with the chocolates I eat. When it first come out, Aero bubbles is the one I quickly snatched up as it piqued my interest.
The package has a very attractive design with green bubbles (or coloured bubbles depending on the flavour) with an actual product image shown in the corner. I'm thinking they named this product Aero bubbles as to project an image of smooth and light chocolate.
It comes in a variety of sizes including small snack bags, aero bars and a big resealable bag for sharing. Depending on where you buy it form, prices can vary a lot. A small snack-sized bag would cost around £0.70, a bag of 5 aero bars would usually cost £1.00 and larger bags for sharing would normally cost £1.50. Personally, I tend to buy the larger bags for sharing as I wouldn't be able to finish even the small-sized packets and they tend to be cheaper as well. Last time I bought it from Tesco, I got it for £1.00 as they're on offer.
Taste-wise, it has fresh minty taste that greatly complements the chocolatey exterior. However, when I first tasted it I was slight disappointed as less airy feeling. Maybe I had high expectations from the package design that I was hoping that the inside of aero balls would be soft and fluffy. Nevertheless, the taste is very enjoyable and a great treat during lunch times. However, I must admit I usually consume about 4-5 balls per servings since it would be too sweet if I eat any more than that.
Nutritional values are the drawback, as with any other chocolate products. It provides 546 kcals per 100g; my estimation is the calorie content would be around 100 kcal per serving of 4/5 aero balls. The sugar content is 57.0 grams per 100 grams of product, which is pretty much the same as any other chocolate bars. Therefore, I believe moderate consumption is the key to healthy eating.
Overall, this product is enjoyable and not to mention the price is very reasonable. If you're bored of eating plain chocolate bars, why not give this a go.
Thank you for reading. :) x
