Chocolate of any kind with mint is a great combination and one that I always enjoy. One of my favourites however is definitely the Aero Mint which is great tasting for a competitive price and it is 233 calories which is roughly the same as many other bars of a similar size and in the same market.
The bar consists of tiny minty bubbles which are then coated and covered with thick milk chocolate which go together so perfectly. The chocolate is smooth and nice and sweet and something I really like is that when you break or bite of a piece the mint inside is a lovely striking bright green colour that looks really fantastic. The bright green colour not only looks great but adds to the minty feel of the whole bar. The tiny bubbles of mint feel ever so good in your mouth. The smell that emanates from the chocolate and the mint centre is lush and adds to the luxury experience of this all told.
I like to eat these after they have been in the fridge as when they are soft I don't think they are quite as enjoyable. When you eat these they are not too tough on your teeth and are just pleasant and offer a very different taste to a lot of other bars on the shelves.
I have just had the standard size bar of mint Aero and it was so nice I had to come and tell you about it!
Normally, the mint Aero isn't my first choice in chocolate bar, mainly because I like bars with a few different textures and fillings such as Lion Bars, Picnics and Snickers etc. Today I fancied a change and the mint flavoured Aero chocolate bar jumped out at me and landed in the palm of my hand just as I was paying for my sandwich at lunch. How convienient!
The packaging is quite attractive, it's well packaged in a foil wrapper to keep it fresh for months. The packaging is a very bright, eye catching green colour and displays the image of lots of little green bubbles. Under the Aero logo is the catchphrase 'feel the bubbles'. This is refereing to the way that the chocolate is made, the bar is airated and therefore full of tiny little bubbles which makes it melt easier and has the feeling of a really smooth texture.
When you open the bar there is 8 chunks of the chocolate. You can easily seperate these by snapping the bar along the lines of the chunks. The appearance is like any other milk chocolate bar in colour execpt for when you bite into it, the bright green colour of the mint flavoured chocolate appears! This really is a bright colour and makes the chocolate look really artificial but it still has the same texture as the milk chocolate.
The mint flavour is promenant in this bar, when you eat it, it leaves the cool mint flavour in your mouth which works fantastically well with the milk chocolate.
I have to say I had forgotten what I was missing with the Aero, it was delicious. The 45g bar is just enough of a treat in my opinion although I could have eaten a second!
Here's the nutritional info -
233 cals per bar
7.6g saturated fat
If you haven't had one of these for a while, treat yourself.
This was on a special offer at a local supermarket over the recent bank holiday weekend. I purchase a few bars whilst remembering I had some rice crispies at home. So when i got home and put away my shopping and after a cuppa I melted down the few bars I had in a glass bowl over boiling water and added some rice crispies, stirred and spooned into some cake cases. Other half went nutty over them, friends and family too. Highly recommended to do. Can also grate a few squares for something nice over the top. YUM YUM.
What is it?
Some chocolate by Nestle.
This is milk chocolate with 'bubbles' or pockets of air within it (!).
What do I think?
I've always been a fan of Aero, for some reason there is something appealing about chocolate with 'bubbles' in it, even when you do get less of the chocolate! I think the appeal is more from the texture of the chocolate, when the chocolate has been 'bubbled', the experience is so much different compared to eating a solid slab of chocolate. For a start, you don't have to make so much effort when you might into it, it all crumbles very quickly in your mouth and before you know it, you had the whole bar in 10 seconds, well, it's the case for me anyway (!).
I think Aero's appeal relies very heavily on it's lovely texture, because when you start focussing more on the taste of the actual chocolate, it's actually not anything unique. I've often felt that the actual flavour and taste of the chocolate itself is fairly standard and average, therefore for chocolate lovers or those wo really know their chocolate, they will agree that an Aero usually doesn't really quite cut it (from the chocolate perspective).
But having said this, the chocolate is 'okay' and I think Aero lovers are usually more immersed into the bubbly textures than worrying about the chocolate. Another thing, I find the chocolate actually melts very easily, may be trivial to some, but it matters to me!
It usually costs about 57p for one of those wider bars of chocolate, I haven't really seen the narrow versions anymore...
Thanks for reading.
This chocolate bar is all about texture, without a shadow this is its unique selling pont, although the quality of the milk chocolate does add something to it. I love the fact that the mint bubbles are authentically green as mint should be and the taste is great. Usually I'm not made keen on mint/chocolate combinatins, for example Mingles, but here the mint taste is strong enough without being too overpowering. I would say that this is definately a chocolate bar for eating on the go, as the chunks can be conveniently broken off. It is interesting that this variety of Aero (in comparison with other flavours which have been introduced onto the market at various times) has stayed on the shelves since the 1980s, perhaps this says it all. I think that a king sized version of this bar would do very well if it was brought out as a limited edition.
Nestle aero chocolate bar
I don't usually eat a lot of chocolate but when I do I like the normal milk chocolate aero but I though I would have a change and I got this big bar as a little easter present. I like the normal milk chocolate one and nestle is a really good high quality brand has been around for ages and they also make after eights, black magic, rolo and yorkie, just to name a few.
So I tried this about three days ago and I was quite disappointed as the mlik chocolate one is really nice but this one in my opinion is not. It is milk chocolate with minty flavoured bubbles, I like the milk chocolate and thats about it. I don't like the mint flavour, I think it is really strong and over powering and I also found that after a few pieces it starts to get quite sickly and horrible to eat. Saying this my sister really really likes it so I guess it it just personal taste, literally.
Nutritional information - main (per 100g - whole bar is 120g)
0.3 salt equivalent
Ingredients (main ones)
Dried whole milk
colours - E100 and E133
And it has two E numbers in for the colouring of the chocolate bubbles. So it has loads of fat and calories like most chocolate goods. In my opinion it is not very nice, it can be a bit sickly, it has lots of calories and fat in and there are nicer chocolate bars on the market.
*Lots of fat and calories
*Nice colourful green packaging
*Smooth and bubbly
*Can be a bit sickly in my case
*In my opinion it is not very nice
*Widely available in most larger supermarkets and I think they also sell it in tesco express for about £2.99 or something like that
*Nice bubbles - although I think that the milk chocolate one is a lot nicer
*Too minty and too strong
Thank you for reading my review
Aero's are made by nestle, i do prefer cadbury products usually, as you cant beat cadbury chocolate! Although i do really like this nestle mint aero.
Aero's are chocolate bars filled with bubbles, which can either just be chocolate, or peppermint flavoured. These chocolate bars are so light, they do not fill you up, so dont buy one if you are hungry!
They are split into segments, and when you bite into these, the bubbles just melt in your mouth, and the chocolate is smooth and creamy. The bubbles are what makes these bars so different to any others. The peppermint taste i dont find too strong at first, but i could not eat much of this chocolate bar, as the mint taste makes it very sickly after a few pieces.
At least you dont feel bloated and too full after eating one of these chocolate bars, but they are a nice treat to have.
You can buy nestle aeros in lots of different packets. You can have multipacks of individual bars, bags of aero chocolate balls in individual packets, or big sharing packets.
The bags of mint chocolate aero balls lack the peppermint flavour in my opinion that the chunky bars have. You cant taste the mint as much, they only slightly taste minty, but i can eat more of these as they are less sickly.
Nestle aero now comes in a range different varieties! You can get them in little chocolate balls, chunky aeros, aero mousse, yogurts, ice cream, ice lollies and aero flavoured hot chocolate! I have not tried any of these, but i wouldnt deffinately love to try the hot chocolate!
An individual aero peppermint bar has 256 calories! So deffinately only have these as a treat now and again! I would imagine all the aero product will be high in calories, i wont list them all on here! Just to go their website if you want to have a look - www.aerochocolate.co.uk
I highly recommend these peppermint aero bars, if you like mint flavoured chocolate and want a light tasty treat them you will love these!
Aero mint was created by Nestle, it is one of the only chocolates I like that is not by Cadbury's. The only reason I had ever tried one of these was because my mum let me have a piece of hers and I found it lush!
Aero comes in different flavours such as Original, Caramel, Orange and Mint but I can assure you mint is the best.
You get around 6 blocks of chocolate in one bar which makes it shareable, although trust me you will not want to share this baby! The blocks are smooth milky chocolate and when you take a bite there are mouthwatering little green minty bubbles inside. The great thing about this heavenly chocolate is that you could eat the whole bar and not get a sickly taste in your mouth because it isn't all chocolate. I personally don't like too much chocolate because of the sickly aftertaste.
The chocolate combined with the bubbly mint is gorgeous and they really compliment eachother, you can feel the chocolate and bubbles melting in your mouth. You are left with a chocolatey minty taste in your mouth, but it's nice and you will want another one, I've just had one and could easily eat another but it's a good job I can't be bothered to walk to the shop or else I'd be the size of a house.
I don't eat these much, only a few times a year but it is what makes it so much more enjoyable, if you ate this everyday then you would not get any enjoyment out of it. Also if you live in the Newcastle area on Northumberland Street they do lush Aeromint milkshakes at 'Mi-Shakes' they are absolutely gorgeous just like the chocolate and if you buy 5 shakes you get one free.
The ingredients of an Aeromint bar are :
Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Dried whole milk, Cocoa mass, Cocoa butter, Vegtable fat, Whey Whey Powder, Lactose, Emulsifier (Soya lecithin), Butterfat, Flavouring) Dried skimmed milk, Butterfat, Flavouring, Colours.
Can't say I'm too impressed about the ingredients, you can get chocolate a lot healthier, the darker the chocolate the healthier it is.

They're very high in fat and sugar and do not contain the most natural ingredients but they are definitely great for a moderation treat! You can purchase an Aeromint bar at your local corner shop for around 50p
Aero is a chocolate bar which is manufactured be Nestle. The bar is normally found as either chocolate or mint flavourings. Although several other flavours have been available including darck chocolate, caramel, white chocolate, latte, orange anD aero crispy. However they are not very common and often appear as special edition.
The first thing which catches your eye is the attractive packaging which it comes in. The packaging is brown for milk chocolate and green for the mint flavour. The front paper cover contains the name of the product in a distinctive Aero writing style with pictures of bubbles. Underneath this is the foil wrapper. I like this almost old school wrapper, it some what builds the tension and reminds you of the olden days.
After delicately un wrapping the packaging we are left with the chocolate bar itself. From the first bite you know it is something special, whether it is plain chocolate or the mint version the chocolate just melts in your mouth and the bubbles are ever so light. The bubbles within the chocolate are somewhat unique to aero. The make the chocolate so light that it melts in your mouth.
In the mint version the taste is nice, the mint isnt too over powering and it compliments the taster of the chocolate well, these flavours go hand in hand together to produce a wonderful bar.
I also like that this bar is segmented. This means it is easy to share and it is a chocolate bar that can bring people together. The bar costs roughly the same as any other chocolate bar on the shelf. In supermarkets you can get various sizes of multipacks aswell large size bars aswell
This bar is a real treat and a delight to have.
I don't usually buy big bars of chocolate, just lots and lots of little bars, but i noticed the large Aero bar was on offer for 50p in Tesco! the mint one was sold out three days in a row but i managed to get a couple today.
This large bar of chocolate is foil wrapped in a green bubbly design wrapper with the Nestle logo and the Aero name in brown bubbly writing on the front, on the back you get the usual contact info, ingredients and nutritional info, see further down in this review if you really want to know how bad this big bar of choccy is for you!
Smooth Nestle milk chocolate with a light peppermint bubbly filling sounds a bit yucky to me as i don't really like mint chocolate and i hate peppermint, but i know better as i have had mint Aero before, the bar is sectioned off into decent size pieces which never seem to snap off in the right place! but that doesn't really matter, take a look at the piece you break off you will see it's got a thin coat of chocolate over the light green bubbly filling, take a bite and as the chocolate melts is your mouth you get a light bubbly minty flavour mixing in with the chocolate giving you a yummy taste, what really gets me is how light tasting and very easy to eat this bar is, i am not sure if that's a good thing as i ate the whole bar!
Not bad value at the usual price of around £1 a bar, nice bright and minimal packaging which is easy to open, the chocolate itself is so light and smooth it just melts in your mouth giving you a not to strong minty flavour, even if you don't like peppermint i suggest you give this a try, it's smooth light and tasty!
SUGAR, MODIFIED PALM AND VEGETABLE OIL, WHOLE MILK POWDER, COCOA BUTTER, WHEY POWDER, COCOA MASS, SKIM MILK POWDER, BUTTER OIL, LACTOSE, SOYA LECITHIN, PEPPERMINT OIL, COLOUR, VANILLIN.
The nutritional ifo is listed as per 1/5 (one fifth) of a bar!:
When it comes to grocery shopping, I always try my best to stay on a budget to have spare money to spend on other things (clothing, for example lol) so I always think why bother buy stuffs that aren't good for your health anyway? I got to eat one of these because they often give away freebies on Saturday morning near my Sainsbury's and one time this was the freebie. I hadn't tried one of these before so I got a bit excited (it was free anyway).
Mint & chocolate is my second best favorite combination after nuts & chocolate. You can pretty much imagine the shape of the chocolate by looking at the picture above.
The bar is made up of chunky rectangles which are easy to break into bite size pieces. You can enjoy it either by eating it in the original shape or break it into pieces, which are both great ways to feel the tastiness of the chocolate bar. Aero is famous for its air bubbles inside the outer milk chocolate layer which make the chocolate start melting the minute its put into your mouth. The taste is great, with the mintiness coming through you mouth, the taste of sweetness & freshness. Some people think that the mint flabour is a bit too strong but I like it that way. It is so fresh, it doesn't make me feel I am eating junk food :)) You know what will make it taste even better? Put it in the freezer or the fridge for awhile. This way it won't melt so fast, a little bit of coldness and a little bit chunky, it is just so delicious. And in my opinion, eating it cold somehow makes it less sweet, sometimes I feel it is a little bit too sweet to eat the whole bar at once.
It costs 50p for a 46g bar at Tesco. You can buy multi-pack for cheaper price.
Of course, it isn't healthy, no sweets are.
A bar contains 233 kcal
Fat - 13.2g
Sugar - 28.2g
So it's not good on a regular basis, just a treat once in a while.
So definitely worth a try! A yummy minty chocolate bar.
Nestle aero chunky is a fantastic chocolate bar that came out sometime last year I think. There has always been the original aero bars however this chunky bar just means bigger chunkier pieces which is much better in the bars are it basically means your getting more.
The aero chunky is available in different flavours too like the original chocolate one and then the mint one as well which is my favourite. I think the original chocolate one is nice however its just a bit plain for me as chocolate on chocolate isn't as good as the mint with chocolate which tastes unique and really nice and refreshing too.
The chocolate casing of this chunky bar seems a little bit thicker than on the original aero and there is definitely more mint bubbly filling in each piece which is the best bit. I love the mintyness of these bars and the bubbles that melt in your mouth as well.
These can be bought in little or the bigger bars however I usually find the little ones enough unless your sharing as I would easily just eat the whole big bar to myself and then feel slightly sick afterwards. The pieces are easy to break off and eat and they can also be bought for a similar price to other bars out there about 45p or so.
Aero is one of my favourite chocolates as a child and can come in a few flavours: the original milk chocolate, orange and mint, but mint being my favourite!
You may have seen the advert for Aero where the American actor, Jason Lewis, is wearing only a towel, lounging around on the sofa and explaining how chocolate melts at 37 degrees, therefore 'increasing the pleasure'. I'm sure this has a double meaning, if you know what I mean!!!
The chocolate bar is made up of chunky rectangles which are easy to break into bite size pieces. Aero is well-known for its air bubbles inside the outer milk chocolate layer which make the chocolate start melting the minute its put into your mouth. You don't even need to chew, it will just melt until it disappears, making the flavour come out even stronger. The mint flavour is very rich, and is very lovely to eat but I find that too much makes me feel a bit sickly or worse than that, it sets off my sweet tooth making me put the chocolate back in the cupboard for another day!!
Recently, Nestle have also brought out Aero Bubbles, which is a small bag of round bitesize pieces of aero (about the size of a small bag of maltesers).
A 31 gram bar of Aero has 164 calories, so wouldn't recommend eating too much. The saying 'a minute on the lips, lifetime on the hips' is so true with any chocolate but even more so with Aero because its so morish.
I recently purchased a big bar of Aero mint from my local Iceland store at only £1!! I thought this was a Bargain so I bought 2! Hmmm I feel guilty now ....
I think that any chocolate lover should definately give Aero a go, no other chocolate can melt the way Aero does, and it will be very hard in my opinion to try and top this.
There are many ways you can repackage an item to make it more appealing. Perhaps eating mint aero in the choc's original format of a choc bar shape wasn't for you, or perhaps you like little chunks you can break off to eat?
Either way, Aero have, for their mint flavour, got this little gem, which incorporates the luscious chocolate filled with bubbles that aero is know for and a fresh minty flavour, all surrounded by a thin layer of milk chocolate.
The packaging is foil, as you would expect a choc bar to be (not tin foil like Kit Kat used to be, but with a shiny green outer layer. It has the traditional bubbly effect of the Aero on the outside. The choc itself is well managed into small strips you can break off and eat one by one, making it nice and easy to eat.
And the taste is great, too, with the mintiness coming through. However, you probably know all this already. If you didn't, now you do, but if you did, and haven't learnt anythying new from my review, then how's about something new? Sure, these are intended for eating purposes as a chocolate bar, but have you tried incorporating them as an ingredient when making cakes? Mint chocolate is a wonderful thing, with its strong taste, yet adding mint flavouring to get a mint flavour for your desserts doesn't quite cut it for me. So, what we did was to get one these and to melt it down slowly in a bowl on top of a saucepan of boiling water. What you get is a gooey, minty, chocolate mess, with which you can do all manner of things. Use it as icing (add a little more sugar), mix it in with recipes, or you can dip sweet things in it. It's a little sweet if you have too much, but this is the same as anything, though, right?
So, there you go. Using it as it was intended, as well as different and more exciting uses for it. Nutritionally, well, it's a chocolate bar, so expect high doses of calories and sugar. There's about 260 calories in the 46g bar, so don't have this if you're looking at losing weight! Overall, it's quite a nice chocolate bar to have, and one I would definitely recommend.
Nestle's Aero Chunky is a variation on a normal Aero bar, where in this case, the chocolate more resembles a large bar of galaxy or Cadburys chocolate sharing bars.
I've always been a huge fan of Aero chocolate. I love the way it just falls apart in your mouth, due to the bubbly texture inside. Much like the bubbles in a whisper bar, but bigger, and with better tasting chocolate too. I know this will incur me the wrath of Cadburys lovers everywhere, but I have never been that big a fan of their chocolate - it always seems to dry or chalky, especially the aftertaste, yet Nestle's Aero chocolate is smoother, and with a much better taste to it.
There are a number of different varieties of Aero chocolate you can get, from normal, to orange, to my all time favourite, mint! Instead of just being flavoured mint chocolate, the actual bubbly chocolate is bright green(!), then coated with regular chocolate. The mint is really well balanced with the regular chocolate, leaving that chilly feeling in your mouth when you've eaten a few pieces. Of course, the plain and orange flavours are really nice too.
The chunks of the chocolate are smaller than Cadbury's chocolate bars, and more rounded, but unlike Cadburys, due to the fragile bubbly chocolate inside, the chunks can disintegrate as you try and break them off, which can be a little annoying. However, it does mean that you have lots of little Aero pieces that you can tip into your mouth at the end, haha.
Aero Chunkys are really good to share while watching movies especially, or just for giving yourself a little treat every now and then. However, if you would prefer to have your Aero in more manageable pieces that don't fall apart, I'd suggest you pick up a pack of Aero Bubbles, which are Malteser shaped balls of Aero!
