Nestle Animal Bar
Advantages: Kids love them
Disadvantages: cheap tasting chocolate
I used to have animal bars as a child in the 1970's but my biggest memory is saving one of my precious bars till Christmas day .I remembered at lunchtime and was unable to find it .I was then told that Santa must have eaten it. I must have been the only child who hated Santa on Christmas day.
I have been buying my son these animal bars on occasions for about six months. They cost 75p for a pack of four76g.
Each bar contains
Trace of salt.
It contains a warning that it may contain traces of nuts
There are a variety of covers on each bar which feature either a monkey, Zebra, leopard, snake parrot and lion while the choice is random I found two parrot pictures in this pack.
This is one bar I am sampling purely for review purposes and then I shall never eat another animal bar of my son's. The paper wrapper is covered by a silver foil wrapper. Inside the paper wrapper is a small quiz which is aimed at children. The one I have unwrapped wants to know how many parrots are facing to the left and right.
The chocolate itself looks like non distinctive milk chocolate it does have an imprint of two different animals which divides the bar. The one I am consuming features as weird looking fawn and lion.
The chocolate does not have the creamy taste that I love from Cadbury's. It does remind me of cheap chocolate and has a little bit of aftertaste that means I will definitely not be eating more of my son's chocolate even when desperate.
My son does like these chocolate bars and now after tasting them it must be due to the pictures and not the taste
After tasting these I probably would be reluctant to buy them again unless he was with me and requested them.
I can't recommend these but pester power is a powerful tool.
I think Santa should get more taste than to steal such a cheap tasting bar of chocolate.
Summary: Far better chocolate out there
