The Kit Kat brand is the best selling chocolate brand in the UK. In 2004, sales amounted to more than £170,000,000 (yup, 170 million pounds). The Kit Kat Chunky, also known as the 'Big Finger' was launched in 1999, with great success. In 2005, 73 million Kit Kat Chunky were sold, averaging out at around 200,000 a day! I am sat here munching my way through yet another Kit Kat Chunky (as in I had one yesterday!) and thinking how nice they really are! They have always been a favourite of mine since they became available but I find that they truly are a really nice bar of chocolate! The Kit Kat Chunky was brought out in 1999 and nicknamed 'The big finger' due to it being more than double the size of a normal Kitkat finger! I first remember seeing a Kit Kat chunky in the vending machine at school and I've always been a huge chocoholic so our relationship began there. I have tried original, seville orange, mint, peanut butter, caramel, dark, choc fudge, white and now coconut as part of the new Facebook 'choose a chunky champion' campaign. Sometimes when I have a chocolate craving, there's only one thing that will solve it... a nice big Kit Kat chunky. A varient on the original wafer Kit Kat, the chunky introduced in 1999 has found massive success since. If only it was as healthy as your bog standard Kit Kat I would be a very happy girl indeed. The 55g bar consists of several layers of wafer slathered in a thick layer of Nestle chocolate, and when I say thick, it really is. Ahh, the beloved Kit Kat. Be it two-fingered, or four-fingered, there is undoubtedly no chocolate bar greater, in my opinion, for dunking in your cuppa, either first thing in the morning, on a busy train journey down to London, or at lunch time, over a fashion magazine.
