We eat a fair bit of chocolate in our house. Well with 3 children (and a Dad who is a chocoholic) you wouldn't expect much else. To be honest my wife prefers me to buy them chocolate rather than sweets and in her wisdom she believes it is better for their teeth. I never argue with what she says! The wife is always right?
Well on Tuesday I took the two girls trampolining as I do of a Tuesday. As it means a lot of strenuos excercise I usually give them a bar of chocolate and a bottle of drink. On Tuesday I went to the cupboard and there was no chocolate left. There was in the morning. I was at home all day myself. I'll let you put 2 and 2 together:-)
So I promised I'd buy them chocolate at the Gym. On arriving I went over to the vending machine. My daughter chose Rolo's wich cost 50p. A bit annoying really as I can buy a pack of 5 for £1.50 from my local Iceland. But I guess you pay for the convenience and the fact you are buying a single packet. One thing I did notice was that the Rolo's had been kept at a nice cool temperature (for those who have ever eaten melted Rolo's you'll know what I mean).
After about an hour and a half I came to collect them. I had brought my wife too in the car, and my daughter came running out with her 'last rolo', wrapped up in the foil. My wife was made up that she had saved her one, only to be told 'don't be daft, it is for my younger bro'. He's only four and he made short work of it. Made me really chuckle!!
The Rolo itself comes in a pack. I think there are usually about 12 chocolates in each tube. They were introduced by Nestle in 1971 and are a nice chewy caramel covered in chocolate. I love biting the chocolate off first and then being left with the caramel underneath. This is a very messy way of eating a rolo though. I have also frozen mine and bit the hard chocolate off. Rolo can also be found in Rolo Cookies and at times of the year at Mconalds in their McFlurry. Rolo in Ice Cream is delicious.

There have been many different adverts over the years with Nestle Rolos but there slogan has always been - 'Would you give anybody your last Rolo'? And my answer is yes.................................ME.
