** Nestles Rolo **
I remeber the advertising campaign that went 'do you love anyone enough to give them you t last rolo?. My ex girlfriend of years back even put one inside a jewellery box and gave it to me - so effective was the ad campaign!
Now here I am years later still eating Rolos long after splitting with that girlfriend. What has changed? Not much.
The tubular pack is still the same old brown colour. The word ROLO is still wriiten boldly n the wrapper. The packaging has been twaked over the years but not intrusively so.
The pack still contains a selection of circular milk chocolate sweets. Each one encasing a creamy caramel filling. I find that the taste varies depending on temperature.
In the summer months because the cohocolate melts faster eating a single rolo results in a brief sweet slghtly chewy runny taste as the caremel and chocolate melt quickly. There is a sudden buzz of taste then a pleasant aftertaste as the Rolo dissapears.
In winter the chocolate stays much crisper so you can bite into it and snap it and the caramel ineterior is tthicker and chewier. I like both tastes so I don't mind which end of the year I eat Rolos but they do taste differently depending on how hot or cold it is.
If I am in the mood for the summer taste I can recreate it by leaving the Rolos in a warm room before consuming them. Or if I want the crisp taste I can just pop the Rolos in the fridge for a bit and still get that winter taste even in the height of summer.
** My verdict **
Rolos are a tasty versatile treat that are still as good as ever.
Summary: Great sweets with a versatile taste depending on the weather
