Advantages: Real nutty taste
Disadvantages: It's been downsized
I am a big fan of Snickers and am not averse to trying Snickers related products so I have tried the Snickers flapjack and the Snickers ice cream. Both were nice enough but not stand out amazing. I had heard of this bar but was under the impression that it was not sold in the UK. Apparently it is but I have certainly never seen it. So I was surprised to see these in Poundland as part of the 4 for £1 they do. This is a good offer as one bar works out at 25p which is roughly half of what you pay for just one bar generally.
The bar doesn't look like the picture above, It is bright orange with the blue Snickers logo and below it the workds Cruncher are written in 3D style. On the front is a picture of a bar chock full of nuts. There is 40g in this which is noticeably less than the standard bar which weighs in at 58 grams. In fact as soon as you see and hold it you notice the difference. The calorie count is also reduced in proportion as this is around the 200 calorie mark. As it is, the packaging rather reminds me of the Double Decker bars.
The bar is a mixture of chocolate, peanuts, rice and caramel. So the difference is that there is more nuts, rice has been added and there is no nougat. Everything is all mixed together but you can see that there are definitely more nuts which is pleasing to me as I am quite a fan and it really ups the peanut taste. The rice is also nice and responsible for the crunchy sound it makes when you bite it. I also think it is slightly more chewy due to all the entwirled caramel than the original bar which I prefer to air-light bars like Aero. This is quite a filling bar, not so much as the original but still a pretty good try.
Would I buy it again? no doubt!
