Time and time again I decide to ignore wise peoples' health warnings and go for Snickers (product of Mars Inc.) because as much as it maybe fat and sugar laden, there's lot going on in that bar: peanut nougat topped with roasted peanuts and caramel covered with milk chocolate (arghh). No wonder it is rumoured to be best selling chocolate bar in the world. It would probably not make me win a marathon (despite its former, tad misleading in my opinion, name), but it does provide me with much needed injection of guilty pleasure halfway through a busy and mundane day.
This time a different take on it came my way - one with hazelnuts, as it wasn't naughty enough already (I bought a case of it for peanuts - pardon the pun - on Approved Foods), to have as a lunchbreak energy shot. And what a feast it is! - the hazelnut note is really present there and makes beautiful marriage to the peanuts and chocolate turning the whole thing into more of a cake than choc bar.
I still wouldn't deep fried the way our American cousins like it the most but I'd never hesitate to have one again... and again...
So if you're not afraid of getting some nuts, I'd definitely recommend this one. Although you'd have to be lucky and probably get it online as it is a limited release (mainly Australian just to annoy us here in cold Britain), not available in corner shops or chip shops for that matter.
