Terry's Chocolate Orange is produced by Kraft Foods. The chocolate has was promoted by Dawn French on television with the slogan "It's not Terry's, it's mine"! Most recent advertisements have promoted the round orange balls as "Round but not round for long".
Terry's Chocolate Orange is chocolate blended with orange oil for a unique taste.
Terry's Chocolate Orange comes in many forms including:
and some other non popular flavours. The plain and milk chocolate variety come in chocolate bars as well as chocolate balls in boxes. You can also buy individual sweets with various fillings.
I will be concentrating on the milk chocolate bar for the rest of the review.
Terry's Milk Chocolate Orange bar comes in a thin. blue plastic wrapper. The Terry's logo is in white and the Chocolate Orange is in bright orange writing which is expected.
The back of the wrapper has a nutrition table and ingredients. The contact details for Terry's is also there.
The Chocolate Orange bar is long and thick. It is the shape of a normal chocolate bar, but the 6 pieces are in the shapes of orange segments and look very real. The chocolate is smooth and you can really smell the orange oil.

So, I am having a wee night in tonight..hubby at his mates playing Xbox, the wee one is having a sleepover at his Grans so its just little me and some DVDs. I like a munch for watching my films and nipped to my local shop for some sugary snacks! Sitting staring at me and shouting "buy me" was a box of Terry's Chocolate Orange Bars. 42p each or 3 for £1 so like a good girl, I picked up 3 and trotted off home (after paying of course).
At Christmas, there would be a Terry's ball in my stocking but I cannot justify the calories of the whole ball so a bar suits me fine. Now for some reason, when I was pregnant with my son, my craving was Chocolate Orange bars. I would go, or send hubby to the shop and buy several at a time to satisfy my craving. This craving nearly got me banned from the shop after hubby came home saying they had none left. I stormed in with my pjs and slippers on at 7months pregnant and had an argument with the owner complaining why they didn't have a good stock. The shopkeepers (looking rather terrified) advised me that I had bought so many that they had ran out and were waiting on a new order...ooopppssss :)
Anyway onto the bar itself. It is extremely creamy and sweet and the orange is very evident in scent and in taste. The bar is hard though when you bite into it, the chocolate starts to melt in your mouth and becomes soft and delicious. The orange is quite strong and leaves a subtle after taste. The melted chocolate provides a satisfying treat and flows down the throat nicely.
I am normally a Cadbury sort of chocolate girl but the Terry's chocolate makes a welcome change is the orange oil adds a real twist to the taste and texture of the overall chocolate.
At 210 calories it is not healthy but as a treat, it is a perfect chocolate bar and tastes real and not artificial.
