Terry's Chocolate Orange
Advantages: Great unique taste and design
Disadvantages: Little too much packaging, pricey
@ About @
These chocolate oranges are normally a Christmas thing in our house but I wouldn't mind one part way through the year. These are completely unique in every way - Shape, Taste, Branding and more. In a box of "sensations" you get small chocolate segments and are priced at £4 per box in Tesco. A little pricy but you can't get the same taste anywhere else.
The oranges come in boxes with one orange, or as "bars" seen in the picture, or they way I prefer to buy them, as sensations in a box. I think the packaging is a little too much for a chocolate orange though because think about it: there is a chocolate sphere wrapped in a hard silver and orange wrapper with a sticker on top. That seems like enough to me but instead it then comes in a plastic casing, followed by a cardboard box to surround it. The wrapper is enough for me thanks.
The orange comes as one whole orange but has segments already cut out of it so you can break them off piece by piece and the wrapper has a sticker on so you can wrap it back up when you've finished. It takes some getting into to break the first segment off but this can be done with some good grip and patience.

Luckily these are not "tangy" chocolates where the flavour of orange is too sour and too dominant of the the taste of the chocolate. Instead you get chocolate with a hint of an orangey taste. Perfect. The chocolate is not sour but does have a slightly dark taste to it possibly a darker blend of milk chocolate combined with the orange flavour.
They are not too salty and do have a tendency to leave a lingering taste in your mouth for a while after you swallow. The orange taste is nowhere near as strong as the chocolate taste but is still a sweeter taste than what you get in regular fruit chocolates. For example, fruit and nut chocolate bars, these have a distinct fruit flavour because there is fruit in the chocolate, with these though there is not fruit in the chocolate, the chocolate tastes like orange.

This chocolate orange is a great stocking filler and a good gift for mates around the office. The orange isn't whole it comes in segments which can break off so it becomes perfect for sharing. I just wish it did not have so much packaging and. It to mention the price but where else can you get this sort of product? You can't, it's unique, and it does have a seriously good taste!
Summary: Love these things and always will do. Excellent stocking filler.
