      .

This is a bag full of little Fun Sized Chocolate Treats which I just spoted in Tesco tonight! These are kinda in the same idea as the Cdbury's Funsized bags, but a bit cheaper. You get 20 Fun Sized Chocolate bars for a bargain £1.39 and these are available in Tesco stores.

Each Bar is individually wrapped and the choice is pretty good. What you get in the pack is

4 Wild and Whippy - similar to Milky Way
      4 Crunchy Caramel - like Twix's
4 Nutty Nougat Caramel - kind of like Snickers
4 Crazy Caramel - like Mars Bars
      4 Cool Coconut - Like Bounty's

These taste pretty much like the Mars products they seem to be based on, but perhaps the Chocolate isn't quite as Milky, and the inners aren't quite as sweet, but they are nice and especially at the price.

The packaging is alright. Each bar is wrapped in a coloured wrapper and they are all wrapped in a larger bag. There isn't a nutritional information on the pack, but it looks like each bar is around 100 calories, sonot bad if you are watching your calories.

I would buy these again as they were good for what they were. Yes, they didn't taste quite as good as the more expensive Mars or Cadbury's brand but they were a good bit cheaper, so if you are on a budget and looking for a few small treats then these should do the trick.

Tesco Chocolate Funbars are pretty great value for money when you compare them to the likes of Cadburys multipacks. You can get a packet of these containing twenty little bars for £1.36. That's pretty cheap when you consider that these all have to be individually wrapped inside the multipack. They work out at 7p each, which I think is pretty reasonable.

Inside the packet you'll find each of the following Tesco chocolate bars in funsize formats:

        4 Wild & Whippy
        4 Crunchy Caramel Biscuit
        4 Nutty Nougat Caramel
        4 Cool Coconut
        4 Crazy Caramel

These are loosely based on popular chocolate bars by well known brand name confectionary companies. The Cool Coconuts are similar to bounties with their milk chocolate shells and coconut centres. The Wild & Whippy bars are like little Milky Ways, the Nutty Nougats are like Snickers bars, the Crazy Caramels are a poor man's Mars Bar and the Crunchy Caramel Bars are cheap Twixes.

I am particularly fond of the Cool Coconuts here, but other than that, I'm not a big fan of any of these. I find them all perfectly acceptable, but they're nothing to get excited about. Given the choice, I'd rather have the brand name version of every one of them bar the Cool Coconuts. I think the milk chocolate they use just isn't all that appetising. But that said, I don't think your average young child will notice this.

As far as suitability for kids goes, these are pretty good little sizes for them. Most of the bars contain around 100 calories, which makes them much better portion sizes than a lot of chocolate products aimed at kids these days. The only drawback here is that a lot of the fillings include caramel, which isn't the best thing you can give to a young kid with a mouth full of milk teeth. All the sugar will have them bouncing off the walls if you don't moderate their intake carefully too.

As a cheap alternative to the brand name multipacks, these are alright. The Mrs likes that she can eat one of these without feeling guilty, so I think other weight-watchers might find these useful for that purpose too. I think the idea is that you get to eat a whole chocolate bar filled with caramel or nuts or what not, but being so small, of course you don't consume all the calories.

I'm going to give these three stars and say that I do recommend them. I think they have their place, and that some people will find these a good low price alternative to expensive kid's sweets, or nasty tasting full size diet confectionaries. I personally am not a huge fan though, and only eat these when there's no alternative available in the cupboard.
