Recommend You Try Them For Yourself

Tesco Cool Coconut Bars come in a few different pack sizes. They're available in fun size packets containing lots of little bars, or in long packets of snack size bars. I can't find the snack size bars on the website at the minute to give you a price, though the last time i had them they were the same price as the Crazy Caramel bars are. The fun size packets cost £1.07 for a multipack containing 11 bars.

In the multipacks of funsize bars, the chocolate bars are all individually wrapped. Not to any wonderfully great standard, but adequately so. In the snack sized packets - the bars are all lined up loosely on a cardboard tray without any wrappers! I was really annoyed with this when I realised this. If you want the snack sized bars to go in a lunchbox then you have to wrap them up in clingfilm yourself.

Taste wise these are, of course, trying to be own brand versions of Mars Bounty. They don't quite succeed, as they're not as coconut-rich as Bounty are, and the milk chocolate is quite as nice. But they do come close enough to be acceptable substitutes. The chocolate could be a little creamier, and the coconut could be stronger with a little less of a sugary flavour to it.

These are acceptable for the price though, providing you get the packet that contains the wrapped chocolate bars! Each bar has 121 calories along with 6.3g of fat and 13.3g of sugar. Yikes, that's a lot for something so tiny. I think I recommend them up to a point, but I have to go with three stars all things considered.

They taste nice enough, and they're reasonably priced too. But they're very unhealthy, the packaging leaves something to be desired and they're not a patch on Bounty. Personally, I'd rather pay that few extra pence and get the real deal. But each to their own, these are worth a try I think.
