      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Yummy rich and milky chocolate!

One thing in life that I do always think of as a touch of luxury is Thortons chocolate. I often treat myself to something delicious from the store whenever I can and recently I was lucky enough to see this particular slab of chocolate on offer in one of the stores at only 50p a bar instead of the usual price of £1.79 and because I know I usually love anything from Thorton's I actually took a risk and bought a few bars and when I got home couldn't wait to chill them in the fridge!

      The Packaging:

The packaging this comes in is visually very nice indeed. The box is olive green in colour with black and silver writing on it with a black strip of colour towards the bottom of the box of which Tonka is written, in the olive green colour so its all really rather stylish in its layout really! On the front of the box we are told that it is Thortons 'The Art Of The Chocolatier' Milk Chocolate With Tonka Bean, Venezuela 38% Cocoa and that it is Award Winning Academy Of Chocolate Silver Winner 2009. On the back of the box other information stated includes being told a bit about the product and ingredients and allergy advice is given, the weight is stated which is 70g, there is a nutritional chart stated and contact details for Thortons Plc are given. Lovely packaging, the chocolate is foil wrapped and within that you get a milk chocolate slab all in different sized pieces with curly patterns on them that look lovely and I think this makes a cheap but lovely looking little gift for someone!

      The Chocolate Itself:

Well this is simply lovely chocolate, at first nibble I was a bit put off by the blend, purely cos I hadn't smelt or tasted anything like it before but I soon got very used to it and fell totally in love with it!

Made with 38% cocoa solids and 21% (Minimum) of milk solids this is a fine quality milk chocolate which is smooth and creamy, not too sweet but melts in the mouth wonderfully. Add to that.... tonka bean is blended well with that smooth Venezuela milk chocolate with cocoa butter and what you get is a chocolate slab/bar that contains no artificial colours and/or flavours and gives the chocolate a really nice taste of almond with a hint of subtle vanilla to it. It smells wonderful and rich and for Lush fans....well Lush use a lot of tonka bean in their products to give them that natural fragrance of vanilla in their products to though oddly enough America have banned this pea like substance in foods however it is very highly thought of in the pagan way of life for it mystical properties.

Whatever though, this is a wonderful fragranced and tasting product from Thortons and I can totally see why it won awards and I shall definitely be purchasing it time and time again in the future without a shadow of a doubt!
