Advantages: Fairly tasty...
Disadvantages: Tiny chocolates...
I'm not going to lie I am a bit of a fan of chocolate and if there is a box of Thorntons under my nose I am liable to eat them before anyone noticed - thankfully however these chocolates were mine! As a birthday present I wasn't going to ignore them and stuff them in the back of the fridge - so I began munching on them...
~*~ Packaging ~*~
The chocolates come in a box just a big bigger than a DVD box and about 3 times the thickness, in an off while colour.. There are pictures of the chocolates all over the box with a little plastic window so we can see the chocolates inside, there are descriptions of the chocolates - and nutritional information.. So if you are allergic to nuts it can advise against eating the chocolates..
~*~ The Chocolates ~*~
Creamy fudge the one in the square-ish gold packaging -
This chocolate obviously has a fudge filling, which I have to say is incredibly creamy - but at the same time very rich, and given that it is one chocolate it leaves a taste in your mouth which means, you need to eat another chocolate to get rid of it.. Just make sure it's not a fudge one otherwise u could be munching until the whole box was gone! The milk chocolate itself is majority overpowered by the fudge to a point where you cannot really taste the milk chocolate coating!
Crunchy Praline the one in the round red packaging -
This chocolate has a lovely praline centre just as you would expect with the little bits of nuts in it, that barely tastes of nuts.. However this time the milk chocolate in far more prominent than the fudge sweet, the chocolate itself actually tastes expensive but doesn't leave that taste in your mouth that doesn't leave you running for a drink every time you pop one in your mouth, instead it leaves you wanting more!
Chocolate Truffle the one in the dark brown packaging -
So here we have a milk and dark chocolate truffle, that is nice and smooth in the middle but if you look at it could be mistaken for cake - it really looks like a muffin and I have to say even though it is a smooth truffle it tastes like a double chocolate muffin! As there is a bit of dark chocolate in here it is a little bit bitter but it is still very tasty
Soft Caramel the one in the pretty purple packaging -
This chocolate I have to say is a bit of a favourite with a hard outer milk chocolate shell, with a caramel centre.. It is nice as you break into the shell providing your chocolate hasn't been in the fridge for too long it will flow nice a easy out and into your mouth leaving a lovely sweet caramel taste in your mouth - that is incredibly moorish!
Double Chocolate Croquant - the one with the domed top in the pale gold packaging -
A nice looking milk and white chocolate sweet, with a sweet but crunchy inside that reminds me somewhat of a toblerone in texture. I have to say though this chocolate doesn't have much presence, so a point where you could bite into it and not worry too much about taking another bite. It doesn't leave that nasty aftertaste that leaves you really needing a drink either..
Orange Crisp - the one in the orange wrapper -
This chocolate has a lovely smooth truffle infused with citrus bits but not large bit obviously. As it is a very sweet chocolate that unfortunately brings back that bitter taste once you have finished it, this is mainly because of the citrus but in it - which get stuck in your teeth and are sour to munch through when they are not amongst the chocolate..

~*~ My opinion ~*~
Well these chocolates, are probably not the best Thornton's have ever made, for one main reason - they are tiny.. There is one sweet in particular that you take out of the packaging and wonder if you sneezed would it get blown away! They all taste quite nice, as after all they are Thornton's and they have some of the best chocolates you can buy - but they seem to lack substance. I found I was picking up one chocolate, eating it and going back for another straight away...
These chocolates are good in the trial boxes for a little present at 99p, but I wouldn't buy them for someone as a gift for around £3.99 as given the size and how many you get in a box it is not worth it.. Especially as you can get some better boxes of chocolate from a Thorntons store that you can pick your own sweets to include and I'm sure make someone very happy!
These chocolates are available in Thorntons, and on the website - also check out supermarkets as you will find they are around thee shops on various offers during the year!

Summary: Swee treats, but you might find yourself eating too many at a time!
