I'm Glad It's Nearly Xmas Again, All The Good Stuff Is Coming Back

I had one of these Xmas Pudding Truffles from Thorntons last Christmas and when I was in there buying a birthday pressie for my mate I saw a pile of them by the till and remembered how yummy they are. I had to have one and they are on special offer where you can buy 5 for £3.00 so I was a pig and got the 5.

They're yummy, the chocolates are quite big for a truffle and mega rich so the 2 bites you get are filling and satisfy a choccie craving.

The milk chocolate coating is quite thick and it's a lovely rich milk chocolate, it melts in your mouth and tastes very strongly of cocoa. I'm not always mad keen on Thorntons chocolate but this is a delish chocolate that is better than what's on a lot of the Thorntons bars.

Inside it's a soft but very full centre. It deffo melts in your mouth and would be gone quicker than the chocolate if the chocolate wasn't so thick and protected it from the heat in my mouth. It tastes very boozy, I can't say exactly what but it's like a mix of brandy and a rich sweet rum and raisin flavour. It's a mega rich centre that is nearly stodgy because it's so thickly packed but has got a nice velvety texture that is perfect for the flavour.

They look wicked too and I'm going to get a few for my family on Christmas day. They look like little tiny Christmas puddings and have even got a little marzipan holly sprig and icing on the top. The individual price is 69p and that is a major bargain for such a yummy treat from somewhere like Thorntons.

The overall flavour is of Christmas pudding so I reckon these would be a nice alternative on Xmas day for people who don't like the actual puddings. I know I'd rather have a couple of these myself than a bowl of stodgy pudding that will send me to sleep! lol
