Advantages: Great price and excellent taste
Toblerone is produced by a company called Craft Foods and the product is available in many different countries they also have many different products in the Toblerone range. This review will focus on the normal milk chocolate "original" Toblerone. However, other products in the range are Toblerone fruit and nut, Toblerone dark, Toblerone white, Toblerone honeycomb and Toblerone tobelle. Toblerone is a patented product so it cannot be recreated by other companies, the company was incredibly smart to do as the product is unique and they are the only company that can get profit from such as good idea.
The company named Toblerone after "Tobler" the family name of the people who created the product and "torrone" which is the Italian word for nougat (one of the main ingredients in Toblerone). There have been ideas on how Toblerone got the shape that it is so well known for, the bar is made up of pyramid pieces of chocolate and people assumed that the shape was because the manufactures home town was full of mountainous areas and the shapes represented the mountain peaks. However, according to the product website the company confirm that Toblerone is sexier than people originally thought. Well chocolate is said to be an aphrodisiac, right? Well the design is one to keep a man's thoughts running next time a bar of Toblerone is gifted to them at Christmas. Why, you say? Well the design of the chocolate bar is based on a sensual dance performed by dancers in France in which at the end of the show they line up in their red and cream frills and form a "shapely pyramid."
The Toblerone bar is made up of Swiss chocolate, honey and almond nougat. The product is made in Switzerland so you know the quality of chocolate is going to be excellent. I love Swiss chocolate so when I was bought a bar of this as a gift I was delighted and couldn't wait to tuck in. The chocolate melts in your mouth and you get left with tasty almond nougat which creates a delicious sensation in my mouth. This chocolate is definitely sexy in taste and in the concept. It's a shame the sexiness does not continue to the packaging! The packaging is a mundane pyramid shaped box with a yellow (what's sexy about yellow?) background and plain block writing which shows the product name. I think the idea of the foil surrounding the chocolate picks up the sexy theme nicely as it feels naughty undressing the chocolate and consuming the creamy delicious goods which lie within. If I could change the packaging to make it live up to its erotic expectations I would use French style font with swirls and have the writing in a more exuberant red to make the writing entice consumers.
The price ranges on the size of the bar you purchase in my eyes bigger is better, (this review is getting slightly controversial!) For a 100g bar you can expect to pay between £1.00 and £1.30, they are available at most supermarkets and you can occasionally find them in your local pound shop (cheap and sexy what could be better!).
Would I recommend this product? Definatley its one for the whole family or a love affair for one that's both moral and more pleasurable!
