At first I thought these were awful, I'm glad I stuck with them though as I love the bars now!

I feel rather two faced writing this review as when I was given a sample of these Weight Watchers Lemon Meringue bars I commented to a fellow Dooyoo-er and Weight Watcher words to the effect of "aren't they vile". However, I've since grown to like them after winning two boxes in the weekly raffle at my meeting. The Lemon Meringue bars are the latest addition to the Indulgence range of sweet bars available from Weight Watchers meeting or online at www.weightwatchers.co.uk - unfortunately you can't buy these in any of the supermarkets but I imagine you could pop into any meeting and buy a box without joining as generally the Weight Watchers 'shop' is located towards the entrance of the meeting. The bar itself is fairly small but so flavoursome that it certainly satisfies any sweet cravings I have while on my diet. It smells lemony as you open the packet and to be honest I don't find it a very pleasant lemon aroma, smelling extremely artificial and rather reminiscent of lemon washing up liquid. Your first bite of the bar may taste a little like that too, unfortunately Weight Watchers have created a bar which the first taste may put you off completely. For me the flavour grew on me when I'd finished half of a full bar; the thin layer of white chocolate is very creamy and melts beautifully around the crispy centre. The inside is made up of small pieces of biscuit and crushed meringue which gives the bar a wonderful chewy and slightly crunchy texture. It's lovely and sweet, not at all like the 'diet bar' I'd been expecting. All the flavours go so beautifully together that the overall experience of eating this bar is actually not dissimilar to munching on a lemon meringue. It was a strange conversion to these Lemon Meringue bar for me as I really loathed them to begin with but they now rank as one of my favourite Weight Watchers snacks. I'm not usually a fan of white chocolate either so the fact that I like these is testament to how tasty the overall bar is. The lemon flavour comes through so strongly that it marries the other components together and creates a delicious dessert-like sensation as I eat the bar. Surprisingly these Lemon Meringue bars contain just 1 ½ Weight Watchers points, yet to me they don't taste like such a low point treat. For those of you who are not following the Weight Watchers plan there are just 86 calories in each bar, which I'm sure you'll agree is a very low figure considering the sweetness and quality of this treat.
