“ Brand: Willie's Delectable Cacao / Type: Dark „
Having only seen this at Waitrose, and nowhere else, I decided that this had to be a "unique", artisan chocolate (which probably explained it's 3GBP / 80g price tag.
PACKAGING: You get two 40g bars, individually wrapped in foil, in a box. The box details chocolate tasting notes (which differ from person to person, so i wouldn't be too hung up on that). Feels expensive - lives up to the 3 pounds.
TASTE: A very, very deep flavour. This is to be expected given that it's a single-origin chocolate. Thing is, i don't usually get such depth from other single-origin chocolates (i'd say this bar even rivals some Vahlrona ones) I felt that there was a probing floral sweetness; with an intense purple bittersweet. texture is sophisticated, very light grittiness. I experimented having this with other chocolates, and found that it was excellent with boozy fillings.
TEXTURE: A light grittiness reminds you that this bar is hand-made. Those of you seeking an ultra-smooth chocolate like Lindt or G&B's won't be happy here.
Truly a bar for a connoisseur, one that you can, fairly cheaply, buy for 3 pounds off the shelf, compared to other artisan chocolate makers who charge 8-10 pounds / 100g.
