I’ve always wanted some of this.. reading the magazines made me convinced that slapping some of this on my face would make me look like Christy Turlington.

The main thing that has always put me off is the price, from anywhere between £17 and £21, dependant upon the website you buy it from. But as I was suffering from one of those ‘oh well I might get run down by a bus tomorrow, might as well look good’ moods I decided to splash out at the Island Trading website.

The balm promises a ‘double action’ tightening the skin to get rid of wrinkles and making you look ‘radiant’ whilst also revitalising your skin after prolonged use.

It really is the most extraordinary product. The first thing that stuck me was the fact it was a ‘beige’ skin colour and the second that it smelt like baby products. Personally I’m not a fan of the baby powder smell, but I suppose it’s unobtrusive.

It makes it very clear on the packaging that the balm is not to be rubbed in but smoothed on. This is harder than it sounds, you generally tend to rub creams into your skin and a concerted effort not to rub is a little odd. Also you have to put your foundation on directly after applying the balm. Many people who have reviewed this product have said how easily your make up goes on after using the product but I found it a little difficult to apply one product over the other and felt a little ‘caked’ in make up by time I had finished.

However the results are very good. I’m only 25 so I can promise it gets rid of wrinkles! But it did make my skin look much brighter (particularly when I used it after 3 late nights and too much drink).

I’m still not sure that it is worth £17, but as a product for emergency brightening of your face it’s a godsend.

I keep being tempted by expensive moisturisers...but I don't like the sound of feeling 'caked'. And to be honest, the best moisturiser I've ever used is a Superdrug own brand one which cost about four quid!

I keep intending to try this (I'm a Clarins junkie!) but I've been put off by the price. Sue :O}
