Advantages: makes skin pretty and plump
Disadvantages: expensivo!
I got my Beauty Flash Balm, or Baume Beaute Eclair as it is also known, from wow woman after seeing it in endless magazines and such for years and years. For some reason I have always been mental about beauty products and since I was about 7 Ive been making a mental list of all the things I want. Whwn I got my first student loan a couple of years ago I embarked on a massive beauty splurge and have spent unspeakable amounts of cash on things I really shouldnt have. Most of these are beauty products. The upside of my appauling waste of money on things I didnt need is that Ive discovered some amazing ways to save money on the cream of beauty products (that I might share one day!), also, I know pretty much everything there isto know about hair and beauty. *********************************** Clarins are known for their good quality products...and their high prices. If you visit a Clarins counter and let one of their usually snooty assistants talk to you about products you might be lucky enough to walk off with some free samples to try. Alot of the time though if they dont like the look fo you for whatever reason theyll fob you off and say 'oh we dont give samples' Theyll only say this if they think youre inexperienced in the upmarket beauty trade so be assertive and never ask directly for samples. ************************************** I had my BFB to hand so that I could tell you abit about the packaging, but Ive just thrown it at my brother in law for being annoying and now I cant find it! So I'll have to look up some info on the web for you and tell you about the packaging from memory. Your hard earned pennies will get you a 50ml tube of BFB and that will last you about 2 months of daily use. My skin plays up alot and one or two times my skin felt ever so slightly tingly when using this, which to me suggests that if your skin is extremely sensitive then you might suffer some irritation from using thi
s products, so please exercise caution and dont waste your money in theres a chance you might be allergic, pop to your local Clarins counter and use a tester, dab the balm along your jawline or any part of your face that is sensitive and see how it goes. You could do this a few times at different times in the month to see how your skin is reacting. BFB comes in a white tube with the print in red. Amongst all the other beauty products on the Clarins counter the BFB can be difficult to spot so don't be afriad to ask for what you want. Sometimes BFB comes in a box and sometimes it doesnt. Some branches of Sainsbury's have begin to sell items from Clarins and Clinique so have a look in your local store. ********************************************** ******* Beauty Flash Balm is a quick 'pick me up' that restores a radiant, firm and youthful appearance to the face and acts as a revitalizing treatment. The product itself is a peachy coloured thick cream that smells a little like talcum powder and rose. I didnt like the smell at fist but I got used to it and I begun to like it. The cream is really rich and luxurious and feels so soothing and lovely when you rub it on your skin. The instrucrions say that you should apply this product ten minutes after moisturiser (it says after moisturiser but you should leave your moisturiser for ten minutes before you add anything else to your skin - especially makeup) Once you apply this balm it says to apply makeup immediately but it leaves skin slightly tacky so do wait a minute or two for that to subside. Every now and again you can apply a thick layer and leave it for 15 minutes as an intense mask. It says not to rub this product in, which I fond extremely confusing, because how else do you apppy it? even when you stroke it into your face youre still rubbing it in in a sense arent you? there are no other details on how to apply, so if you have the patience you can just pat the pro
duct into skin but who has ten minutes to waste solely on patting cream into your face? Theres still the hair and makeup to do people! (not that that affects me as I am a pure loafter until October when I go back to uni, muahahaha, I spend my days watching Cribs and Newlyweds so I can pat in all the cream in the world!) Anyhoo, back to our product! At first I didnt notice any real difference in my skin but over time I noticed that it looked a little bit more fresh and more dewy. The effect of the product isnt why Id use it again though. I feel like I need it now that Ive used a whole tube. Im currently using Superdrug's Natural High Radiance Balm and it isnt a patch on my Clarins, but at £4 a pop, I was silly to ever expect it to compare to my Darling BFB. I feel sort of addicted to my BFB and considering Ive used so mant different products, I feel quite brainwashed in a way becaus even though this product doesnt do much for my skin, I NEEEEED to keep using it. Maybe theres some addictive drug in it and every time I rubbed it into my face I got a little bit more addicted...hmm. I might just have made myself sound crazy there. Thanks for reading! Nat :o)

- 02/11/04 I know exactly what you mean about this product. How on earth is it possible to apply without rubbing. Certainly has the most confusing directions of any product I've purchased recently. I go for a kinda smooth over the face and allow to dry thing. Not sure if thats right or wrong but does the trick!
