Advantages: Does exactly what it promises to do

Disadvantages: Relatively expense

Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch is marketed on the Clarins website as "a little pot of silky smooth, oil-free skin perfector' which is formulated to give your skin that smooth, blemish-free look that we would all love to have.

The Product
The product comes in one of Clarins' signature style little red pots with a screw on lid, silver detailing and white text. This packaging is very classic and would look good on a dressing table. Inside the pot, the product is a pale pink colour, with a mousse-like appearance and a silky soft feel. The jar size is 15ml.

Application
You apply this product using your fingertips on to any areas of the face where you need it - it is especially designed to fill in fine lines, wrinkles, open pores and other imperfections, so it is best to concentrate on any areas where these might be an issue. You can wear it on it's own, over a day-cream or under your normal foundation - if applying foundation, it's best to let it sink the Instant Smooth sink in for a couple of minutes first and do its job.

The feel of the product
This product feels lovely on the skin - it is very smooth and absorbs into your skin with minimum effort, leaving a smooth, silky finish.

Does it work?
The Clarins webside claims that the product works by using Acacia Micro-Pearls (miniscule spheres of dehydrated Acacia) to plump up wrinkles and fine lines, leaving a perfect younger looking skin behind. I would definitely agree that my skin looks much better after using this product - it's a much smoother surface for my foundation, and I'm finding that I use a lot less foundation these days as my blemishes are much less apparent. I have a indented scar on the bridge of my nose which is much less noticeable after using this product. However, this is not a product that is going to provide a miracle, long-term anti-ageing solution - yes, it makes your skin look better but it does it in the same way as make-up does. Once you take off your make-up at night, your skin is going to look just the same. Essentially, it's a skin primer not a treatment cream, so don't expect any long-term miracles.

Active Ingredients (taken from Clarins website)
Acacia Micro-Pearls
Line-Minimiser Pigment
Silicone Gums
Plant Triglyceride
Vitamin E

Price:
This is priced at £21.05 and is available from Clarins counters nationwide. I think this is relatively expensive but I do believe it's a product that is worth spending money on as it does give good results.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic product which really does do what it says on the tin. It definitely smoothes out fine lines, wrinkles, little scars and that is good enough for me! If you need a perfect base for your make-up, then you could do a lot worse than invest in some of this - and as your skin is smoother, you get more applications out of your foundation, so you'll probably save a bit of money too.

Summary: Highly recommended - this has made a real difference to my skin
