Gentle Exfoliating Refiner is a facial exfoliator cream made by Clarins the experts in skincare. The exfoliator has been designed with very fine exfoliating agents which Clarins say will restore a youthful radiance to your skin. The exfoliator is suitable for all skin types. As with all Clarins products it is not cheap and a 50ml tube costs around £20 but you can get it a little cheaper in some online stores.

The exfoliator contains natural plant extracts chosen for their special properties. There is Butcher's Broom which stimulates microcirculation, decongests and brightens skin. Mimosa Tenuiflora which is chosen because it softens and soothes skin . There are also microspheres, exfoliating ones which lift impurities from the skin, remove dead surface skin cells and excess oil and cleanse the pores. Finally there are refining microspheres which improve the action of the exfoliating grains and refine the skin epidermis.

**The Exfoliator**

The product comes in a white tube with a screw top cap. The tube is designed so that it sits upside down on its lid. If you gently squeeze the tube the product is easily dispensed. The exfoliator is a creamy white colour of moderate consistency. You only need a small amount as it spreads quite easily. It smells really nice like many of the Clarins products, a nice fresh plant smell.

**Instructions**

Use once or twice a week on cleansed, damp skin, avoiding the eye contour area. Exfoliate with light, circular movements, without rubbing. Rinse with warm water and follow with the appropriate Toning Lotion.

Apply some of the product to clean damp skin, making sure to avoid the eye area. You should exfoliate using light, circular movements and not rub into the skin. Rinse off with warm water then you can apply toner.

Gently massaging the exfoliator into my skin I can feel the small grains starting to work, its not uncomfortable but you can feel them working in a gentle but abrasive way. The exfoliator covers your face in a white cream. It is fairly easy to rinse it off using some hot water and a facecloth. My skin feels immediately soft and smooth. The difference is really quite remarkable.

**My Thoughts**

I really like this exfoliator it works well on my skin leaving it soft and smooth yet it is still quite gentle and doesn't irritate my skin at all. I try to use it once or twice a week and because you only use a little the tube lasts for quite a long time. The only downside is the price but then all Clarins products are expensive. However I really like Clarins products and for me they are a little luxury and they do tend to last longer and work better than many of the other cheaper products. I buy them from my local department store and earn "Time for Me" points which I can then redeem for salon treatments and treat myself to a facial or massage. So I will continue to save money on buying some cheaper products which will then allow me to splash out on others!

Summary: A exfoliator from Clarins that gives you lovely soft, smooth skin only drawback is it is expensive.
