Advantages: Smell, ease of use, texture, softens hands

Disadvantages: Cost

I have been using Clarins products for a couple of years now and mainly use the cleanser, toner and shower gels. A friend recommended that I try this hand cream, and it took me a while to take her up on the advice as I couldn't bring myself to spend so much money on 'just a hand cream'.

I'm a massive fan of lotions and potions and have tonnes of hand creams in my drawer at home. Usually opting for a cheapish one from boots (Vaseline or similar, which would normally set me back about £4 max).

The Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream was about £18, and I just wasn't sure that I could justify it. One of the Clarins staff members caught me nosing around one day and I explained my predicament, she was lovely and let me try a few squirts of the hand cream. I went off and did some shopping before feeling compelled to come back and buy. I loved the trial of the cream, and after having it on for a few hours, I just knew that I would be purchasing the full price bottle.

So, I paid my £18 for a 100ml tube of the lovely stuff. The packaging doesn't really look much as it's just a simple white tub with the Clarins logo and writing in red. It is a squuezy tube with a screw-top lid. The hand cream is a lovely consistency, meaning that you can hold the tube with the hole at the bottom and the contents won't just drip out. The tube needs to be gently squeezed to get the product out and it's very easy to control the amount that you get.

The cream has a lovely, lightly perfumed scent and it smells very fresh and clean. The texture is incredibly smooth and it feels very light when you put it on, almost like wearing a silky glove. It makes my hands instantly feel soft and I love the feeling of having it on - something I've never experienced with a hand cream before.

The effects of the cream seem to last well and my hands will be soft all day. I usually use the product once a day, in the morning.

The product claims to moisturise, revitalise and soften - all of which I can confirm that it does very well. It also claims that it will protect hands again external aggressions, minimise age spots and strengthen nails and I'm not sure that I can really comment on these as I haven't really seen the results.

Overall, I am in love with this product and would say that it's really worth splashing out and treating yourself. It cheers me up to use it and it's something that I would be happy to recommend to anyone.

Summary: A wonderful product that is well worth spending the money on!
