Advantages: Leaves skin really soft and moisturised

Disadvantages: The price!

I love Clarins products and am always keen to try out new products in their range. I always feel their products are great quality although the downside is that they are expensive. The latest product to be put on my skin is the HydraQuench Cream which they describe as "a super-moisturising" cream.

A tub which contains 50ml retails for £30. Now I have to confess that I did not pay this but I have a discovery size which is larger than a sample size and usually you get free when they have an offer on that if you buy two products you can choose a couple of these sizes to try. My tube is 30ml so I have really got a good bargain as its worth quite a bit of money. The full size comes in a tub with s screw top lid. Personally I prefer the tube as it keeps the cream fresher and free from dirt and dust that might get in when you open it up or stick your fingers in.

Clarins says that the cream is light and fresh yet provides long lasting hydration to give soft and supple skin. The cream is designed for normal to dry skin and is part of a whole range of hydraquench products designed to moisturise and care for your skin. It is designed for use for morning or evening so you don't need a separate night cream.

The cream contains natural plant extracts and like most of Clarins products are plants that you have never heard of but have great properties for your skin. These include Hyaluronic acid which helps maintain ideal moisture levels, Katafray bark which restructures skin's protective outermost layers and limits dehydration and Sorbier tree bud which stimulates radiance-boosting microcirculation. I always wonder how it is that they discover that plants have these properties! It also contains an E3P Complex which protects against pollution and UVA/UVB filters to protects the skin against UV rays.

The cream is a white, fairly thick cream, it has a pleasant fresh smell, not a smell of anything particular but is nice enough. Applying it to my skin it feel quite rich and moisturising but it absorbs quickly. Having used this for a few weeks now I do like this cream. My skin is best described as combination, it can be dry at times and then at other times oil and prone to spots. As a result I tend to chop and change my moisturisers to tackle whichever problem I have at the time. This is a great moisturiser to use for the times when my skin is dry. It really does feel as if it is hydrating my skin and after using my skin does feel smoother, plumper and moisturised.

Would I buy it for myself at the full price? Well yes I might be tempted as it did work although the expensive price tag does somewhat put me off. Might have to write a few more dooyoo reviews to justify buying some! However if I can get another free sample then I will certainly continue to use it!!

Summary: A great moisturiser which works well but is expensive

I like Clarins products but I just can't afford them!
