Overperfumed and overpriced (Clarins Multi-Active Night Cream)

Advantages: Looks a nice tub on your bathroom shelf

Disadvantages: Didn't moisturise and smells like aftershave

I really like Clarins products and I've had some nice lotions and potions from them over the years. I was given a tester of this night moisturising cream from the nice lady over the counter as they are quite pricey and I like to know it's going to suit my skin before I shell out the £39.00 they were asking!

The bottle is a lovely dark blue and white design, modern and easily distinguished from the day cream. It's packaged as prevention plus Multi-Active Night Cream Youthful Vitality (which sounds great).

After cleansing my skin as per the instructions I opened the bottle to a really strong hit of masculine smelling scent. The smell was quite overwhelming which put me off a little as I generally try to stay away from heavily perfumed products. I persevered with the moisturiser and applied it anyway but by this time the smell was quite intense.

It seemed to sink into my skin fairly quickly and didn't leave a greasy residue, however, 10 minutes after I applied it my skin was feeling tight and dry again and the overpowering masculine scent was giving me a headache!! In the end I gave up and applied some vitamin E cream over the top to give me skin that boost of moisture I still felt it needed.

The product was fat too over perfumed for my liking and at that price, I would have expected a lot more impressive results than I got. What a dissapointment....I won't be buying this any time in the future.

Summary: I'll be keeping my £39.00!!
