Advantages: Leaves skin feeling wonderful, soft, plump and smooth

Disadvantages: THE PRICE !!!!

When I was at the Clarins spa in my nearest department store for a facial the therapist gave me a tube of a new product to try. The product was the Clarin's Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum.

The serum is designed to restore incredible brightness, softness and give a healthy glow to the skin. Clarins claim that early wrinkles are reduced and skin appears younger-looking. This all will leave your skin according to Clarins looking "perfectly smooth, incredibly soft to the touch and glows with a new freshness." All sounds very good but is it?

The serum is suitable for all skin types. It can be applied in the morning or evening and should be used after cleansing skin but before using your usual moisturiser. It can be used all year round or just as a skin "pick-me-up" when your skin needs a little boost.

The serum contains two key ingredients which are Nopal Flower Extract and Phytosphingosine. The Nopal Flower Extract evens the skin surface and reduces small age spots. The Phytosphingosine optimises the synthesis of collagen and also boosts cell renewal.

The product is a pale pink thin cream like consistency. It smells not of anything particular but has a fresh natural smell. It absorbs quickly into my skin and instantly my skin feels softer, plumper and really smooth. It is really a bit of a miracle product. It feels so light when you put it onto your skin and not at all greasy which a lot of serums can be.

You only need to use a tiny amount so a tube will last you quite a long time which is just as well when you find out the price later in the review!

I really like this serum, it feels so nice on my skin and really makes it feel good. The downside is the price as you might expect as it's from Clarins it is expensive. For a 30ml tube it costs £42. That's around twice the price of the Boots No7 serum which is also a great product. I do like this product and I think it is every bit as good as the Boots No7 serum however I cant really justify paying twice the price. So unless a nice kind Clarins therapist gives me another sample to try I wont be using this one again despite it being so good.

Summary: A lovely but very expensive skin serum from Clarins.

I have no idea how people can afford this sort of thing!
