Advantages: Thick, does what they say it does
Disadvantages: Price, tricky to get out of the bottle
As you may have seen from previous review I love Clarins products and after a very generous donation from my partner's mother I have loads and loads of different things to work my way through. Unfortunately Clarins is not a budget brand and therefore when things run out it won't be cheap to replace them.
Clarins moisture rich body lotion comes in the normal Clarins white box with red writing on it. Inside the box comes the usual information leaflet in various different languages. And of course the product itself, the lotion comes in a 400ml plastic bottle with a screw lid (as can be seen in the picture above) or you can also get this in a tube which is 200ml. I haven't had the tube yet so can't comment on what this is like to use.
The lotion comes out of a tiny hole in the top bottle and you do have to be quite strong, think wonderwoman!, to be able to squeeze the product out the further down the bottle you go as the plastic isn't flimsy. The other issue with this is that as you get through the product you do need to turn the bottle upside down to be able to get it to run to the hole rather than shaking the bottle then attempting to squeeze the contents out.
I suffer from dry skin particularly on my legs and tend to use much cheaper products as I need lots of cream to be able to get the right moisture into them but as this was free gave it a try. Clarins claim that this lotion is "A rich, quickly absorbed lotion which intensively moisturizes and instantly soothes. It restores soft, firm skin, leaving it visibly smoother and satin-soft to the touch."
Well its certainly true it does leave your skin feeling really soft not sure on the visibly smoother but definately touch wise. The cream itself is really thick hence the struggle to get it out of the bottle when you want to use it. I think if I was going to get this in future I would get the tube as this would definately we easier to dispense.
There is a slight perfume to this cream but unlike some of the Clarins products which can leave the bathroom smelling like a spa room this is nowhere near as intense and is mild and quite pleasant. I can;t quite put my finger on what it smells like though, supposedly it contains "Peach extract, Candlenut oil and Orange Blossom " but I wouldn;t say any of those fragrances jumps out at you.
I don;t know how much the 400ml bottle costs but having looked at the price of the 200ml tube on boots £26 I'm not going to investigate much further. This cream really did wonders for my skin but I'm not sure I can justify the money for my legs when cheaper, unbranded products will work even if I do have to put more on to get the same results.
If someone gave me some of this again I would be very grateful or if I was feeling flush (maybe I will win the lottery) then I would treat myself. If you are looking for a cream that will put mositure back into your skin I would definately recommend this I'm just not so sure on the price hence the 4/5 stars.
Summary: A treat for your skin
