Advantages: Feels just like water

Disadvantages: Strong scent, doesnt make my skin feel soft or clean

Now I'm quite lucky to have a fussy friend who seems to only buy higher end products and if she doesn't like them then I benefit from it as she gives them to me! This was recently something I was given from her and as much as I adored my Liz Earle products I love to try new things and this was something that intriuged me. I have found this for around £14 online for a 200ml bottle and is slightly more expensive around the £18 mark in Boots and at Clarins stockists. At the moment Boots is currently running a promotion were if you buy two Clarins products or more they are giving away a free 30ml bottle of Eau De Jardins perfume (which I have written a review about and I adore!).

The packaging as with all Clarins products is sleek and simple. The bottle is slightly tinted orange and has a screw top lid. I have quite sensitive skin that can react badly to new facial washes and toners but as Clarins is an extremley well known brand I thought I would give this ago. Now at first the concept to me that it didn't require rinsing off I was a bit confused about. The bottle instructed me to 'Soak a cotton pad and gently wipe over face. No need to rinse off.' So I did as I was told and soaked several cotton pads and working in circular motions across my face. I have only ever used this in the morning so I cannot comment on how well it takes off makeup but I have heard that just for light makeup such as a tinted moisturiser it removes but a full face of makeup its not as great. It doesn't lather and does literally just come out the bottle looking and feeling like water. I really liked that as the liquid was so water like you could use all of the product without leaving any in the bottom like cream cleansers which there is always that little bit you can't quite get too.

I'm incredibly fussy when it comes to fragrances in makeup/cleansers/toners and other facial products and this on the bottle sounded gorgeous as it contains peach water. The fragrance for me was just a little too overpowering and I'm not sure if its because I've got a really strong sense of smell and I'm fussy about these things or if it was just genuinely quite a strong peach fragrance. When I first applied this to my face it felt slightly stingy which wasn't unbearable but I do think that is down to my quite sensitive skin. After a wiping around my face I felt like my skin was hydrated but at the same time slightly tight and not as clean as I would like it to be. I'm not sure if this was down to the fact that I'm so used to rinsing my face after using products it didn't feel quite so clean as normal. I didn't break out from using this product but I don't think I would be going back to it or buying it with my own money as I don't like the way my skin felt afterwards and also I found the scent far too overpowering for me, I prefer things to smell more natural and "barely there". I think this product would be amazing if you were travelling long distance just to refresh your skin on a long journey flight or if you were off somewhere with no running water?.

Overall I'm just not sure about this product but I think it would work brilliantly on other skin just not my own!

Summary: Not a re-buy for me
