Advantages: Softens, moisturises and requires no water!
Disadvantages: Pricey
I am really loving the Clarins skincare range at the moment and am thrilled that they do a product which allows waterless cleansing. The idea of this cleanser is to be able to use it without having to wash it off, essentially it is a cleanser and toner in one. The cleanser is expensive and retails at £18.50 for a 200ml bottle.
The Clarins website has a write up on this product and claims that it contains its own essentail water which is an active ingredient obtained through steam distillation, all sounds very intriguing! It states that it contains plant properties as the water appears to be extracted from plants. This cleanser contains peach which has been selected as it is said to be soothing, softening and conditioning. So does this cleanser live up to its promises?
I really enjoy using this cleanser, I have combination skin which can be sensitive and as such a cleanser designed to be genlte on skin is ideal for me. I am also slightly lazy in terms of my skincare, I usually wash my face with a cleanser in the shower everyday and then I use this waterless cleanser in the evening to save me having to go to the bathroom and use a cleanser which requires washing off! This cleanser also smells amazing due to the peach extracts in it which is lovely as I hate using products on my face which smell strange!
In terms of the promises of soothed, softened and conditioned skin I would say that this does tick all three boxes there as well. My skin feels soothed and due to the gentleness of the product there is no irritation or dryness caused by this product. In fact I find this product leaves my skin hydrated and it is a little moisturising, which is why the product does soften and condition the skin. My skin feels soft to touch after using this cleanser which I like. I definitely think that this cleanser has helped to keep my skin clear as well in combination with the rest of my skincare routine.
Another benefit of this product is that due to it needing no water to remove it, it is the perfect product for taking with you to the gym, or when travelling etc. I generally use a cotton pad to wipe the cleanser over my face so all you need to take are some cotton pads and the cleanser!
In conclusion I would throughly recommend this cleanser, if you can justify paying the price as it is expensive for a cleanser!
Summary: A waterless cleanser which leaves my skin hydrated and softened.
