Clinique Even Better Makeup Foundation
by beautyaddict101
Clinique Even Better Make Up
One of my favourite foundations of all the many I've tried and I am pretty fussy when it comes to foundation!
THE CLAIMS:
- helps combat hyper-pigmentation and deliver brighter skin, both immediately and over time.
- Includes treatment benefits to help even skin tone ... and SPF protection to help prevent
future hyper-pigmentation.
- provides moderate to full coverage, leaving skin instantly perfected with a unique mineral blend.
MY EXPERIENCE:
The foundation feels thinner than some foundation's I've used in the past. The bottle has a fine nozzle so if you pour too much out your not getting it back in there, my advice is to pour a little at a time! I think a pump would be beneficial. Initially when I applied the foundation I felt a little oily but give it time to settle in as it dries into a very nice finish!. My skin definately looks brighter and the foundation gives a nice dewy finish which I haven't found before with an oil-free foundation. I always go for oil-free as my skin is oily and I've found oil-free works better for me and if I'm honest I normally search for a matte finish. However this foundation has coverted me I find a dewy finish to be much fresher and brighter. I would say Clinique are correct in describing this as moderate to full coverage. It's fairly long-lasting but I've used foundation's that have lasted longer throughout the day and I always find I need a bit of powder as the day goes on.
The foundation has SPF 15 which has it's good and bad points, it's good to have the protection from the sun but SPF in foundation can cause problems with flashback especially in photographs, this would be something to consider if choosing this foundation for a special event where pictures are involved!.
Another thing I noticed when choosing my shade is the wide variety of shades available! I don't struggle to find a shade match with any range of foundation but with this variety of shades I can't see many people struggling!
THE PACKAGING:
As I've said before in my Clinique reviews the packaging as always is fairly simple, a peachy-coloured bottle with a silver lid, nice and simple. As mentioned above I'm not keen on the nozzle, I don't like wasting product especially when the product is not particularly cheap.
VALUE FOR MONEY:
It's £23.00 for a 30ml bottle. I would say considering the quality of the product this is a fair price. The product lasts quite awhile also. I'd be happy to repurchase! Read the complete review |

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion
by beautyaddict101
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.
A moisturising lotion designed by Clinique to be used as part of their 3-step skincare routine.
1. Cleanse
2. Tone
3. Moisturise
THE CLAIMS:
helps duplicate the moisture naturally occuring in the skin to provide comfort and balance ... to your skin.
WHAT I'VE FOUND:
I'll start by saying I didn't go out and choose this product myself, it was part of a 'bonus time' gift set I recieved after purchasing some other items from Clinique. I think 'bonus time' is a wonderful idea, it's basically a deal that's on every so often where upon purchasing usually two items from Clinique you recieve a gift set with some sample-sized products in. It's a great way of trying new things you wouldn't necessarily choose for yourself and occasionally you find a gem (hence this review!)
This product comes in both a lotion and a gel form, since trying the lotion I've also tried the gel but I'll do a separate review for that! This particular lotion is designed for dry to very dry skin which isn't really me, I'm more oily/combination. I decided to use this at night throughout the winter months as my skin was in need of a bit more moisture then.
My favourite thing about this lotion is the texture, despite being intended for drier skin it has a very light consistancy and is not greasy at all. It settles into the skin nicely and I was pleasantly surprised as to how it improved my skin, my skin feels smoother and definately more moisturised but not in an oily/greasy way.
THE PACKAGING:
The product comes in a small clear bottle, the product is pale yellow. It comes in both a pour and pump type bottle. The pump bottle is definately better, I find when pouring the product out you waste a lot and with this product a little goes a long way! As with all Clinique products the packaging is very simple but I like that, not too gimicky, it's to the point.
VALUE FOR MONEY:
The product comes in two sizes:
£17.00 for the 50ml cap bottle.
£29.50 for the 125ml pump bottle.
It's such a lovely product to use and makes such a different to the skin I'd say it's worth the splurge especially as you don't need much of it, therefore it lasts a long time. I'd definately repurchase this, well done Clinique! Read the complete review |

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild
by beautyaddict101
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap
A cleanser designed to be the first step of Clinique's 3-step skincare routine:
1. Cleanse
2. Tone
3. Moisturise
This product comes in three different varieties depending on your skin type:
Extra Mild
Mild
Oily
By either visiting a ... Clinique counter in one of the department stores or by completing the skincare questionaire online it should be fairly simple to find out your skin type and choose which one to go for. I went for mild, my skin is combination.
The cleanser comes in a clear bottle with a pump dispenser which works well. The experts at Clinique claim that one pump is enough product to cleanse with, I found I used more...maybe I'm a little heavy handed, I don't know I just felt I needed a bit more to ensure all my make-up and grime was removed.
One thing that struck me about this product was the smell, I was expecting a light, fresh scent, however it was more medicinal/chemically if that makes sense. I've definately smelt nicer products!
HOW TO USE:
The instructions say to lather the product in your hands with water, massage over face and neck and rinse. They recommend you use this twice daily and follow with steps 2 and 3 of the Clinique skincare routine,
After using the product my skin did feel nice and clean, my only complaint was that it felt slightly dry and tight (a similar feeling to washing your face with actual soap). I wasn't overly keen on this to be honest. I suffer with breakouts and I'm always searching for the perfect skincare regime to improve this, and although this is a good cleanser I wouldn't rush out and buy it again. It's £15.00 for a 200ml bottle, therefore not cheap and thats probably the main reason I wouldn't repurchase. I just think there's better products out there for the same if not a better price!
