Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser Very Dry to Dry Combination
by walsha11
This is another one of those bargains I picked up from this discount store I found near my boyfriend's flat. The store sells a mixture of beauty products and home-ware. Among a whole load of rubbish there is the odd gem and I tend to opt for known beauty brands because I can guarantee the quality of what I am buying.
This ... moisturiser stood out to me because clinique is a brand I have used before and know to be both good quality and also on the expensive side. I bought the 50ml cream which comes in a plastic tube and usually retails at around £17.00. I paid £10.00 for it which is a great discount on something that comes from an expensive brand.
The cream comes in a clear plastic tube and has a silver coloured metal twist on lid. There is the obligatory clinique branding on the tube as well as information abut the product. The contents of the tube is a yellow coloured cream so the overall look is a yellow and silver colour theme. I do quite like the design of this product, it is functional and also looks good. This cream does also come in a larger glass bottle which obviously has a more stylish, classic and expensive look than the plastic tube but I do find tubes better for getting all the contents out.
The cream is relatively thin in consistency, it drips out of the bottle rather than needing to be squeezed out. Personally I prefer a thicker cream but this is quite a nice moisturiser for day use. I find the colour a little off putting, though clinical claim to use natural ingredients and avoid artificial colourings and fragrances there is something about the colour which smacks at being artificial. I'm sure it isn't but the impression alone is enough to put me off a little. The cream is fragrance free but because of this it just has a slightly unpleasant non-smell to it (if that makes any sense at all). I'd almost rather have a synthetic fragrance then a product with just a bland slightly chemical smell to it.
The cream itself rubs into skin quite easily but if you rub too much it develops this waxy feel on the skin which isn't very nice. The cream does, however, leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I tend to apply this an hour or two before bed and then apply either eight hour cream or alicia douvall argan oil (both previously reviewed) in order to help re-nourish my skin.
I have to say I wouldn't pay full whack and I'm not 100% sure I would buy it again. I am glad to have tried it and definitely pleased that I only paid £10 for it. I think there are a huge number of inexpensive creams out there that are just as effective so I'll be opting for something cheaper next time. Read the complete review |

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser Very Dry to Dry Combination
by purplekimmy
I was given a tester pot/botttle?? of this by my step-mother many years who worked for Clinique at the time, as she was somewhat obsessed with my skin?
Being a 20 something with perfect skin, I used to put it on to show her it was being used then it would gather dust at the back of a drawer.
Now I am a 38 year old ... woman with dark circles (too many late nights) and dry patches of skin, basically my skin is a mess, being an angel that she is my magic step-mother came to the rescue with yet another pot/bottle of this.
It is a pale yellow colour and quite a thin runny consistancy. It is smooth and easy to apply. It is very kind to the skin and it does give my skin a glow and energised feel about it. I used to think that Dramatically different was a bit of a huge claim to make, and being 20 something when I first tried it out, I saw no real difference as my skin was near perfect then (God I hate saying that). Now, not quite so perfect, I am now paying for my years of neglecting my skin. Thankfully having this in my make up box, it does go some way to making it that little bit better. It is in no wasy a miricle sure, even though the price may have you thinking this.
The bottle lasts a long time but I am still unsure that the price is worth the results. Could you get the same results from Oil of Olay or some other product, possibly. They would be cheaper too. Also the design of the packaging is horrible as well, after all it is a plastic non squeeze bottle. When you are nearing the end of the pot you cant squeeze the lst few bits out nor scrape them as the opening is too small! Not very well produced.
Its not really worth the money but it does work for me, and while I get the odd bottle free, I shall take advantage. Read the complete review |

Clinique Full Potential Lips
by sparkle1004
I'm not much of a lipstick wearer but I do like to wear lip glosses. I like to have a bit of colour on my lips and the gloss makes them more eye catching. I don't have particularly full lips and so when I saw the Full Potential Lip Gloss by Clinique, I wanted to give it a go.
What does the product do?
The triple action ... lip gloss aims to make your lips look lush and full for hours by filling in the fine lines, making the lips look smooth and plump. The product gives the lips a lick of colour, coats them with a high shine with a beautiful pearl finish.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in the same way as your usual lip glosses. It is to be applied directly to the lips as often as required. It can be worn alone or it can be applied over the top of your favourite lipstick, although when worn over lipstick it won't have the same plumping effect.
Available Shades
The product comes in a range of different shades which are mainly different shades of pinks and purples. They have really lovely names such as Blackberry Bloom, Cherry Bomb and Sugar Plump. I chose the shade called Sugar Plump and it is a red/pink shade.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a clear plastic tube and you can see the product inside. You can see the colour and the bits of sparkle inside. The lid of the tube is a silver metallic colour and inside the lid is an applicator wand. The end of the spongy applicator is pointed so you can make sure that you apply the gloss accurately. It can be bought for around £14 from stores which has a Clinique stand such as Boots and Debenhams, and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product doesn't have much of an aroma. It just smells a bit glossy if that makes sense and it doesn't have a lovely fruity fragrance as I was expecting. The consistency of the gloss is really thick and tacky. I have used lip plumping products on the lips before and some of them really sting! I was awaiting this sensation with product but if I'm honest I couldn't feel a thing, not even a tingle. This made me question the product right away.
The colour translate in a very sheer way on the lips and you can still see your lips underneath. It is a nice enhancement though. It is speckled with shimmer too so it does make the lips sparkle a bit but only in a classy way. The gloss is quite tacky as you apply it but once on the lips it settles down and it isn't quite so sticky. You do have to expect some stickiness from a gloss however. The gloss does make my lips look really pretty and although I don't think the product is actually plumping up my lips, the gloss itself gives the appearance of my lips being fuller and a few people mentioned that my lips looked lovely while I'm wearing the product. It has good staying powder and it stays on the lips for quite a few hours, even when eating and drinking.
Conclusion
All in all, this is a lovely lip gloss that does make your lips look fuller, even if it doesn't actually make the lips fuller. It gives a sheer and shimmering colour to the lips which is glossy and eye catching. I really like the product and as it stays put, you won't need too many reapplications which means I won't be repurchasing the product anytime soon. Read the complete review |
