Express Review on Clinique 3-Step Skin System

I have always wanted to try Clinique's 3 step system & I finally got around to purchasing it & unfortunately it has been a bad experience. I have had more breakouts than ever & I'm sure their toner could strip paint (I actually tried this & it does). I won't be purchasing it again - back to aesop for me.

The famous 3 step system! I went for this in my hour of need, 6 weeks before my wedding. Over the years I must have spent thousands on my skin, so I decided to spend a little bit more! The lady behind the counter promised me this would work, so I rushed home to use it, and I must say my skin instantly felt very soft and calm. I saw a minor ...  Read the complete review

I love the 3 step system. I have oily acne prone skin and I have been using the 3 step in level 3. soap for oily skin: I find the soap too leave my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed and removed of all oily residue I tend too accumulate on my skin. This soap is definitely not for everyone as it is very stripping but not in a bad way for ...  Read the complete review

Background: I've always had rubbish skin and as such I've been through many phases: the tea tree oil phase, the witchhazel stage, the benzoyl peroxide era... eventually, as I'm now the wrong side of 25 and still suffering from spots, I decided it was time to throw some money at the problem so decided to try Clinique Three Step. I started using the 3 step system after I was given a trial pack at the Clinique counter on a wander through Debenhams. Prior to starting my trial with Clinique I used to buy a different face wash, toner and moisturiser every time from Boots. My theory behind doing this was that by using different products quite often, my skin wouldn't ...  Read the complete review

Clinique recently launched a massive campaign detailing their three step plan. This is a skin care regime that consists of a soap (either liquid or solid) a clarifying lotion (so a toner basically) and either a moisture lotion or moisture gel - a moisturiser. The campaign offered customers a week's supply of each product which then needed to be ...  Read the complete review

I have used the Clinique 3 step system for years now and swear by it! I use the formula for dry/combination skin. This set is terrific for people with dry skin or combination skin, because it evens out the skin tone providing it with essential moisture without leaving it greasy. The set in total is about $50 and it well worth the price. It ...  Read the complete review

Since the time I was born I have had very dry skin; as a child I used Hydrocortisone cream which only ever soothed the itching and flaking for a while and then caused the dryness to flare up again, with the added bonus of making my skin hyper sensitive. It wasn’t until I became an image obsessed, self absorbed, love hungry teenager that it ...  Read the complete review

Initially I got a sample set of the 3 step system and after a week went to a CLinique counter and explained that my skin was getting worse and that i had more spots than ever - i was told this was all the 'gunk' working it's way out adn i was so close to blemish free smooth skin. I was getting extremely fed-up with spending money on facial care products to keep my combination, dry and oily teenage skin spot and flake free, I was yet to find a facial system that worked. I suffer from slight eczema around my nose which flares up if I use any thing to aggravate it, so it’s difficult to find a product that keeps spots at bay ...  Read the complete review

I really wanted to take care of my skin, I suppose I had pretty good skin, I barely broke out and when I did the zits were gone in about two-three days and there were barely any. ~Introduction~ This 1960's 3 step is what gives Clinique the bad name it has with industry professionals and savvy beauty addicts. The special 'system' is basically a routine of totally stripping and then greasily replenishing your skin. Express Review on Clinique 3-Step Skin System
by - written on 11/08/03
Rating:

cliniques great stuff but the counter girls r kinda deceptive - Advantages: noticed improvement immediately, less acne, nice clean feeling - Disadvantages: the xlinique counter woman said that the clarifyer and the lotion were the most important but i beg to differ. the soap n claryfier are mandatory for this system to work. i dont dislike the moisturizer at all but its not imperative to use it., the clarifyer burns the first times you use it., the moisturizer is runny and doesnt smell very good.

I'll admit I love lotions and potions for your skin, but when it comes to actually cleansing it using some greasy runny cleanser than a stinging tonerthat never really appealed so in all honesty good old soap and water ruled the day! So when I heard about Clinique's 3 step cleansing system it intrigued me as it seemed alot easier. However ...  Read the complete review
