Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser Very Dry to Dry Combination
by purplekimmy
I was given a tester pot/botttle?? of this by my step-mother many years who worked for Clinique at the time, as she was somewhat obsessed with my skin?
Being a 20 something with perfect skin, I used to put it on to show her it was being used then it would gather dust at the back of a drawer.
Now I am a 38 year old ... woman with dark circles (too many late nights) and dry patches of skin, basically my skin is a mess, being an angel that she is my magic step-mother came to the rescue with yet another pot/bottle of this.
It is a pale yellow colour and quite a thin runny consistancy. It is smooth and easy to apply. It is very kind to the skin and it does give my skin a glow and energised feel about it. I used to think that Dramatically different was a bit of a huge claim to make, and being 20 something when I first tried it out, I saw no real difference as my skin was near perfect then (God I hate saying that). Now, not quite so perfect, I am now paying for my years of neglecting my skin. Thankfully having this in my make up box, it does go some way to making it that little bit better. It is in no wasy a miricle sure, even though the price may have you thinking this.
The bottle lasts a long time but I am still unsure that the price is worth the results. Could you get the same results from Oil of Olay or some other product, possibly. They would be cheaper too. Also the design of the packaging is horrible as well, after all it is a plastic non squeeze bottle. When you are nearing the end of the pot you cant squeeze the lst few bits out nor scrape them as the opening is too small! Not very well produced.
Its not really worth the money but it does work for me, and while I get the odd bottle free, I shall take advantage. Read the complete review |

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser Very Dry to Dry Combination

I was given this in a gift set so I am unsure of the cost but would guess at around £20-25 based on other similar products I have bought in the past. I believe that generally you get what you pay for in a moisturiser and also that the expensive ones tend to last longer.
I do find this to be slightly too thick / rich for my ... liking. It is a cream really rather than a lotion, although it is in the packaging for a lotion and therefore can take a bit of getting out when it gets nearer the bottom of the bottle! It feels very rich when applied to skin and you can tell it is deeply moisturising.
Personally I don't have very dry skin and so it was a bit much for me, but that is a personal thing and not the fault of the product, so I wouldn't mark it down for that.
It didn't leave my skin feeling as silky and smooth as I like and as I find some other moisturisers to do. It felt ok but just nothing special really. But again I think this was maybe due to it being the wrong type for my own skin. Even so, I felt that whilst it felt like an expensive product it was nothing to really shout about. Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty Skin Relief

Unfortunately I have no idea how much this product costs, which I know is quite an important factor, because when I first tried it it was via a sample given away with a magazine and I am now using a standard sized tub which I was given as a present. However, I imagine it is not cheap, but I also think that you do get what you pay for ... with moisturisers so I would willingly pay the full cost when this tub runs out! I would expect as a rough guess to be paying around £20-25?
This is a gel-like cream, really lovely and silky feeling and really quite light. If a thick creamy moisturiser is more to your liking then this is probably not your thing. Having said that, the lightness does not mean that it doesn't moisturise well, it does so incredibly well and leaves my skin feeling moisturised and comfortable all day.
I took this on holiday with me and it felt lovely on my skin at the end of each day in the sun, really refreshing and really kind to my skin - no stinging at all despite me having a slightly red and burnt face on some days! It helped to keep my face moisturised enough so that I didn't even end up with a peeling nose! My skin has felt really supple and soft since using this moisturiser and (whether this is just coincidental or not) I have had fewer blemishes.
I only ever apply moisturiser during the day but this feels light enough on your skin to be able to use it on your skin at night without that horrid sticky feeling that some thick night moisturisers have.
It has a lovely light fragrance and one of the important things I have found is that a little goes a very long way. You really do only need a small amount of this at a time, meaning that actually it will be quite cost effective. Read the complete review |
