Advantages: actually works at reducing spots

Disadvantages: expensive (but I find it worthwhile)

As I have written in my review for the cleansing lotion - I first started using this in April 2010, and personally find that it works really well. I am in my late 20's and have struggled to find something that minimises my acne since my early teens. I have previously tried all kinds of brands, from less expensive ones such as clearasil and clean and clear, to the more expensive dermaligica and murad. Each time I tried something new I'd see an initial improvement, but after about 1 month my skin would return to how it had been before.

I didn't really expect this to work, but thought I'd give it a go - starting by buying the set of 3 items shown here (for £30 from boots). After about 2 weeks of using this 3 step system I could see an improvement, but my skin was a little dry and I wondered whether this was similar to the initial improvement tht other products seemed to produce (i.e. one that doesn't last), however after a month the dryness had cleared and the improvement was maintained. I continued to use the 3 step system and also started using the Clinique anti blemish foundation up until my wedding in July - when my skin was the clearest it had been in years. I do still get spots - I'm not saying it clears it completely, but I have much fewer.

I now generally buy the items individually in larger bottles as it is more economical and they last longer, however I like that I can still buy the starter set for going on holidays! Whilst it is a little pricey (and I don't seem to be able to find it cheaper by shopping around), I find it effective and therefore worth it, and Clinique often have good offers, or give away free samples. Also it can be bought at shops (in their highstreet stores or online) that have good loyalty schemes (including boots and debenhams).

I would definitely recommend buying this 3 step system to give it a go.

Summary: expensive but effective
