Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Spot Treatment Gel - Now that is some product name. This product is part of the Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions range and it developed to be clarifying yet gentle to skin types prone to breakouts.

I was recommended this product when I was buying a Clinique foundation and asked if there were any products that would help with my teenage style breakouts (my teenage years are far behind me and I had rather hoped the spots would stay back there with the years!). The clinique consultant put a little of this gel on a cotton bud and swiped it over the offending spot. There is an immediate cool tingly sensation that gives you assurance that this product is going to do something. After a minute the sensation fades and the gel is invisable almost as if it has coated the spot to allow it to dry up.

I purchased this from boots and have been using it for almost a year now. The price is currently £11.74 for 15ml which looks like a tiny amount but as I say I have had mine for about a year and not even half way through.

The directions state to dab the get on blemishes morning and night and this small little product packs a mighty punch when it comes to knocking out those spots. I find that when you first feel a spot coming put a little dab of this on and the likelihood is that the spot will never really appear. However if it is one of those pesky little blighters that give you no warning and just appear this little gel with have it better after just one or two applications and reduces the redness of the spot quite soon after the first application.

My only complaint about this gel is that sometimes after it has dried you can see where the gel is, almost like you have a little dry skin so I always have a look after 10 mins to see if it needs a little moisturiser. Also if you have to reapply this several times to the same area it can dry your skin a little but I have found a little moisturiser clears that up quickly as well.

Application of the product is easy, you can either put some on a cotton bud, on your fingertip or squeeze directly from the tube to the skin. I prefer to squeeze it directly onto the spot to make sure it is all covered.

This product is by no means the cheapest blemish stick but it does work and at this rate It will take me about 3 years to use it all up so in that sense it is good value. One good thing about Clinique is that they do regularly have Bonus time and if you buy two products you get a lovely selection of goodies to try as well.

Summary: Small bottle of product that actually works!
