Advantages: Looks nice

Disadvantages: Doesn't work, expensive

Here we are again, another review about my spots. 'Hooray!' I hear you all cry, 'Life on Dooyoo doesn't get much better than this!'

I have a bit of a problem with the skin on my face, especially round my chin, as it seems prone to almost constant spots, blackheads and blemishes. I have reviewed a few spot gels on here before, but they have invariably only been given a couple of stars as I have not been impressed with any of them. However I have seen the ratings for Clinique Acne Solutions Anti-Blemish Spot Treatment Gel, I have read many reviews for it, and I have even had comments and messages from other members suggesting I try it. So try it I did.

The gel comes in a small bottle or tube with a screw top lid. It is packaged inside a small cardboard box with the Clinique logo on it, and both the box and box are in attractive, calming shades of green that have a slight medicinal look to them as well as looking expensive.

The bottle has a small nozzle under the lid which allows you to squeeze out a small amount of the clear gel onto your finger and then apply it to the affected area. When you do this, the gel feels cooling on your skin which is nice. It is then supposed to reduce redness and swelling and dry up the spot.

Unfortunately it did none of these things for me. I have used it various times on various types of spots and it didn't improve any of them, or shorten their life span. The only things it did were leave a whiteish film over my skin and occasionally make it drier. I think even my cheap Avon blemish gel was more successful than this!

This has been a huge disappointment for me as I had heard so many good things about it, and also because it is so expensive. It will cost you between £10 and £13 depending where you buy it, which is much pricier than most of the gels I've tried before. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that you don't try it as obviously it has worked for a lot of people, but be aware that it is not for everyone.

Summary: Didn't do anything for me

I have actually had a lot of success with this gel on my spots but if you really have trouble with pesistant spots then i would recommend bye bye blemish drying lotion. i have used this before with a lot of success. however it does dry the skin out. if you use it with a moisturiser then you should be absolutely fine. good luck xxx

Wow how strange! I have lots of spots and I can't live WITHOUT this stuff. I find cheapy Avon version simply awful! You need to apply this morning and night on the spot, and you'll see a difference in 3 days, I can't figure out why it hasn't worked for you.
