Advantages: Feels like it is drying out the spot

Disadvantages: Does not completely eradicate the spot

Being the vain guy I am, I have tried and tested nearly all the spot creams out on the market. As soon as I saved enough money to buy myself a few Clinique items in the hope my spotty skin would improve, this was one of the first purchases I made on recommendation by the Clinique Sales advisor donning her lab coat in the effort of looking medical.

The Spot Treatment Gel comes in a small 15ml bottle, the size of a lipstick, so for boys and girls alike its easily stored and taken around if needed.

How do you apply it to the face? Theres a small nozzle which you squeeze the gel onto the spot and you either use a finger to spread it around or more hygienically spread using the nozzle.

The gel is very cooling with a slight tingly feeling on the skin. It does however dry form a slightly shiny layer if applied too generously. Its slightly annoying how you can feel its presence on the face, only making the presence of your blemishes more apparent to yourself.

The million pound question - Does it work?! Well I've had varying results with it, majority of the time not great. Place it on spots surfacing or bulging red on the skin and it seems to have very little effect. On the larger spots it does have significant drying out properties, which might have some impact on the healing.

Should you get it? - Depends on the kind of spots you have, the larger red ones will dry out a little and settle, but are not eradicated. If this sounds like your skin, then maybe otherwise I'd spend the £14 or so elsewhere!

Summary: Varied results depending on the type of spot, only worth trying if you have money to splash about
