Advantages: Blends well, nice colours, good applicator brush, prettty looking compact
Disadvantages: Price?, Only available in one finish (shimmer), shades look different online
I was looking for a new blusher and being rather impressed with Clinque's products in the past I thought I'd try their's.
*Packaging"
This blusher is a great little compact with a silver lift-up lid with the name 'Clinique' embossed to the left-hand side. The back of the case is clear which is usefull because you can see how much of the product you have left. On the back their is the shade (114 Iced Lotus in my case). All other information is on the little green paperboard box that the blusher comes in. I like the fact that it comes in a box because it won't get damaged in your shopping bag. When you open the blush compact, you will see a handy mirror on the top half. It's great for women on-the-go. There is also a small travel sized brush included that works as well as (or if not, better than,) any other full sized brush I've tried (and that even includes my Body Shop Blush Brush which is pretty good).
*Using The Product*
I find that this blusher works best when used with the brush that's included. The brush is a shape that will help apply the blusher so it that it looks perfect. The blush is very easily blended onto the rest of your face. It's not streaky at all. It's not too powdery or too firm.. it's just the right consistency for spreading. The blusher feels nice to apply.
*The Results*
I have a lovely glow to my face after using this. It's perfect for any occasion. For the day it gives you a nice natural-rosy-cheek look but for night-time you can play it up a bit more to help give the appearance of higher cheekbones and a heavier cheek colour.
*Conclusion*
I would recommend this blusher to anyone. However, it's a little pricey at around £18.00, but I do think it's worth spending that little bit extra for makeup that's going directly onto the face. Also, little goes a long way- I've had mine for about one month now and looking at it, you can't even tell that I've used it. You get 6g of the product and in most blushers you get between 3 and 5. The only problem I would say is that if you are buying online, be aware that the colours look a lot different on the swatches to what they really do. I bought the shade 'Iced Lotus' which looks very purple on the Clinique website, but I asked for a pink shade in-store and the lady at the counter said she'd recommend this shade, and it is more pink than purple. It's always best to buy your Clinique products in-store because a lot of their shades looks different online. None of the shades are matte- they all have a slight shimmer to them. I've always preffered a matte blush but this still looks amazing. This blusher can be bought at most well-known LARGE drugstores (such as Boots, Superdrug etc) and also some department stores (such as Westgate, House of Fraser and Harvey Nics).
Summary: A nice blusher for any look.
