Advantages: Does a Great Job & Really Easy to Apply.
Disadvantages: Quite Expensive.
Back in May I was lucky enough to escape to the sunnier climates of Greece for a week... even though it seems about a year ago now when I look back! The main reason for this girl's holiday was to relax but the more important reason in my mind was to get a decent tan... there's only so long a girl can fake tan for before getting bored of the biscuit smell! I stocked up on Asda sun cream as it was very cheap and also had good reviews, but my dear mum also treated me to a bottle of Clinique's Body Spray SPF 15. She'd actually been given it as a present and as she goes the colour of chocolate after spending about half an hour in the sun she'd never really had any need to use it so donated it to me, her poorer tanning daughter!
The product used to come in the classic light green coloured Clinique bottle which did always look a little old fashioned to me (as shown above) but it's now been modernised (thankfully) and comes in a bright yellow bottle with while writing on it. The bottle is really contemporary looking as well as being very eye catching - it can't help but make you think of the summer! I think it's a welcome renovation to the rather tired and old looking packaging that the brand used to favour. The hard exterior of the bottle also means you can pack it in a case without worrying it'll get damaged or leak all over your clothes and shoes while travelling.
The product is dispensed by an aerosol which I personally think is one of the main attractions with this bottle, most sun sprays come out via a pump down spray which means it can take ages to cover your body whereas this continuous aerosol spray means you can simply hold it down and cover your entire body! Clinique actually advertise this as providing a "continuous spray" and I personally think it's an excellent and somewhat unique idea when it comes to sun protection. The product itself is a very pale white in colour and has a pleasant scent, it rubs in really easily and leaves my skin smelling nice and feeling very soft.
Clinique advertise this product as "delivering stabilized protection against the aging and burning effects of UVA and UVB rays with one touch convenience" and I'd certainly agree with that. I wore this throughout my holiday, reapplying it every few hours and didn't burn once. Obviously the factor you use will depend on your skin and the amount of protection you want but this one worked well for me. The other main advantage is that it makes hard to reach places really easy to reach, especially the middle of my back. It's also oil free, water resistant and sweat resistant too as well as being suitable for sensitive skins.
The Clinique Body Spray SPF 15 retails at £17.50 for 150ml which did seem quite expensive when I first thought about it; however sun protection is not cheap when you think of the main brands such as Nivea and Soltan. They also offer the same product with an SPF 50 and several sun creams as well as one just for the facial area which I'm keen to try for my next holiday. I'm giving this product four stars as I really liked it - it was really easy to apply, it smelt nice and it looked after my skin. However it does loose a star for the price, if Clinique was only that little bit cheaper I'd be shopping this every day of the week!
