If you have looked at any of my other reviews you will see that I have reviewed the two other Clinique products in Clinique's 3 step programme, The liquid facial soap and the Dramatically different moisturising lotion both of which varied greatly in the results for me and that is why I thought that I should review the clarifying lotion which is step 2 ==== What Is Toner ==== The purpose of a Toner or Clarifying lotion is to strip away all traces of makeup and daily dirt and oils from the skin that cleansers miss, It is also a way of tightening pores and refreshing your skin. the only problem with some of these is that they can also strip away ... The Clarifying lotion constitutes the 2nd step in Clinque's 3 step routine (which I do not follow as the other 2 products are not for me) and acts as a tonet. Number 2 is the version for combination skin and claims to get skin super clean and exfoliated while toning the oily areas and respecting those which are drier and more sensitive. A large bottle (400ml) will normally set you back a pricey £25 at the clinique counter, but it does last a really long time. It has a purely functional scent like most of the no nonsense Clinique range. I have experimented with other toners which are cheaper, have pleasant smells and packaging etc but nothing has ... I've found another great product from Clinique that has now become part of my everyday beauty routine. It's one of those products that makes you think, "what did I do without it." The product I am talking about is their Clarifying Lotion Number 2. This lotion (which is actually a liquid) is part of their exfoliators range which are said to encourage skin renewal for a smoother complexion. They have gentle formulas which they say are the perfect way to uncover your skin's natural radiance. Firstly, just a bit of history about Clinique. Clinique is one of the world's largest suppliers of prestige makeup and fragrance products. It was launched by Estee ... Read the complete review

A few months ago I made the decision that I wanted to splash out on some good quality skincare products which I thought would encourage me to do the 'cleanse, tone and moisturise' routine on an everyday basis (I often favour sleep over a regimented skincare routine). The Clinique three step routine had been recommended to me a few times so had a discussion with the Clinique consultant in John Lewis who went through a skin type test before recommending the Mild Liquid Soap, Clarifying Lotion 2 and a moisturiser. I bought the 200ml version of the Clarifying Lotion for around £12 although it is available in larger sizes. It comes in the basic Clinique packaging ... Read the complete review

Having almost always used a physical exfoliator (the scrubbing, grainy lotion type) it was no surprise to the Clinique Sales Assistant when I complained that my skin was becoming a little more senstive than usual in the Winter months. She recommended I try out the 'Clarifying Lotions' and gave me a sample of both 1 and 2 to try out, telling me to "Look for a strong cooling sensation, but not a stinging or burning". So, with enough for a week or so of use, I headed home to try them out. The Clinique 'Clarifying Lotions' are designed to 'sweep away dead skin cells' with no abrasive scrubbing. They claim to reveal smoother, softer skin with more 'light ... Read the complete review
