Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3

I bought this as part of my Clinique 3 Step Routine and it's the only part of the routine that I don't really like. It costs £14 for a 200ml bottle but unlike the cleanser and the moisturiser, this one doesn't last that long. There are 4 different types to choose from which are just numbered from 1 - 4 , this one, number 3, is for oily skin. It comes in a pink see through bottle with a lid that just screws on, but there's no special dispenser or applicator, it's one of those ones where you just have to tip it up onto your cotton wool and then apply it to your face, which means often you can waste a lot because you get too much out. I was recommended this Clinique toner by one of the advisors at my local Clinique. I was previously the no2 toner but this felt a bit stingy and too uncomfortable on my skin as it was too sensitive from spending hours in the sun. It was the summer after all and I wanted to make the most of it and get a tan. So this clarifying lotion was the 3rd level up and meant that it would take a little more off than level one and two. As brands of skincare products go, you don’t get much bigger (or much more prestigious) than Clinique. Established in 1968, these are cosmetics so posh that they have to be sold by scarily immaculate women in clinical white outfits stationed on special counters in Boots and department stores rather than off the shelf like most brands – and they have price tags to match. Billed as the 'difference maker' this toning lotion is meant to be used as part of the overall Clinique skincare package, but for me works perfectly as a standalone product. When swept over the skin it removes dirt, impurities and excess skin cells - and the results are right there on the cotton pad. I was amazed at how clean my skin felt after using it, even when I used it after thoroughly cleansing my face first - it also smooths the skin, almost as if it has removed a layer of dry cells that you weren't even aware were there.
