I first used Clinique clarifying lotion many years ago when I started to earn my own money and before I got married and everything went Pete Tong financially. I tried several items from the Clinique range partly as gifts from an Auntie, and partly as I experimented with products to try and keep my oily (and during my 20s spotty) skin in check. I was disappointed with Clinique skin care (though I like their make up) in general. However I did very much like their turnaround range which was fairly innovative at the time, and the Clarifying lotion. With a wedding coming up next month I've been trying to haul my old carcass back into some kind of shape, losing a ... Read the complete review

I have terribly oily skin and after trying many skin care products designed for problem skin I always seem to come back to Clinique and their 3 step programme. This 3 step programme is basically, cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise and can revolutionise your skin care regime. I have type 3 skin which is categorised as oily and as a result I use Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3. If you wish to find out what your skin type is and get a custom designed skin care routine, then visit your local Clinique counter. The clarifying lotion is packaged in typical Clinique style, a minimalist bottle with trademark green cap. The Clinique logo is in silver on the ... Read the complete review

I was recommended this Clinique toner by one of the advisors at my local Clinique. I was previously the no2 toner but this felt a bit stingy and too uncomfortable on my skin as it was too sensitive from spending hours in the sun. It was the summer after all and I wanted to make the most of it and get a tan. So this clarifying lotion was the 3rd level up and meant that it would take a little more off than level one and two. Thinking about it now, I'm not sure why I got recommended this one, since my skin was already quite dry and the last thing I wanted to do was get rid of my tan. I tried this toner out in the shop and from what I felt there, this ... Read the complete review

I went to a Clinique counter in Boots a few years ago and had a skin consultation. The beauty consultant tried to sell me the whole shop but I eventually whittled her down to just one product. I had heard a lot about the infamous three step skin care regime by Clinique which involves three products whose purpose it is to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise. I couldn't afford to buy all three of the products at the time so I asked her which one would be the best for me to buy. She said that my enlarged pores were causing me to have oily skin and that if I didn't exfoliate, they were going to get larger and ruin my complexion permanently. And so she advised me to ... Billed as the 'difference maker' this toning lotion is meant to be used as part of the overall Clinique skincare package, but for me works perfectly as a standalone product. When swept over the skin it removes dirt, impurities and excess skin cells - and the results are right there on the cotton pad. I was amazed at how clean my skin felt after using it, even when I used it after thoroughly cleansing my face first - it also smooths the skin, almost as if it has removed a layer of dry cells that you weren't even aware were there. However, I would agree with the points made by other reviewers - there are 4 different 'grades' of this lotion and its important to pick the .. Read the complete review
