Advantages: definitely helps my skin; doesn't contain harsh chemicals; doesn't leave my skin feeling 'tight'

Disadvantages: Quite pricey, only comes in the 200ml. size.

I've always had pretty dry skin, and my mother has always used Clinique, so when it came to finding beauty products for my skin; Clinique seemed the obvious choice.
My mother also used the Clinique 3-step skincare system, and took me along to Debenhams to get my skin 'diagnosed' at the Clinique counter; the result being I had dry and sensitive skin - so they recommended the mild clarifying lotion, along with some other products.
I have been using the mild clarifying lotion in conjunction with other Clinique products for around 6 months now, and my skin is definitely better off for it! I use it morning and night; after a shower and after taking off my make-up.
As the mild clarifying lotion is such a gentle product, it doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or itchy like other skin products tend to do. Also, as it's so 'mild', it isn't strong enough to remove your make-up, so use face wipes/soap to remove any before using the mild clarifying lotion.
The mild clarifying lotion "speeds cell turnover; keeping skin clear, smooth, with that Clinique glow. Allows the driest and most delicate skins to reap the advantages of twice-a-day exfoliation," as quoted by the Clinique website.
The mild clarifying lotion definitely works for me, so if you too have dry skin, sensitive skin, and find it irritable when using products that contain strong chemicals, then Clinique's Mild Clarifying Lotion could be the product you've been looking for!
