Advantages: Light, natural coverage.
Disadvantages: None!
Introduction:
I love Clinique make up. It is quite expensive so I normally treat myself when it is on offer. A couple of times a year they do an offer which involves buying two products (one being skincare) and getting a beauty bag with loads of free products in. I like it because it gives me access to a lot of products which I can trial and see if I like them. Expensive make up works out much cheaper that way. I needed a new foundation and the lady behind the counter recommended me this one once I had under gone a small trial with her.
Price and availability:
You can purchase this product from Clinique skin counters all over the UK. Counters are located in a lot of department stores, including John Lewis, Debenhams, House of Fraser and also in lots of the larger Boots stores. It is priced around £23. If you are buying it on the internet, make sure the site is reputable as it is easy to come across fakes.
Actual product:
Although I have been calling this product a foundation, it is actually a tinted moisturiser. To some people it does the same job, to others it is very different. The product comes in an almost oval squeezy container with a screw on and off lid. The lid is really secure, which is good as it is awful when make up leaks in your make up bag. To apply the make up I squeeze a small amount onto the back of my hand (a small amount really is the key, you can build up more later if you want, but it is best not to waste any by squeezing out too much). Then I use a brush to rub it into my face. The key is to rub it in, so it really blends with your face and is absorbed really well into the skin to give you the perfect colour match and the most natural finish. You can use your fingers if you wish but I find a good quality brush gives a much nicer finish.
The product is really nice and moist, so it gives your skin a fabulous dewy glow, which is really hard to get with any other products. It doesn't make your skin look dry at all, and doesn't cling to dry skin patches or spots. It evens out colour and gives moderate coverage to different patches to give a reasonably even skin tone.
Conclusion:
It does not act like some kind of full face cover, like thicker, heavier foundations, so if that is what you are after then this is not the right product for you. If you want a lighter, more natural appearance then this is the foundation for you. It is worth noting, that unlike a lot of tinted moisturiser, this is not greasy at all, and does not feel like it is going to slide off your face.
A really good foundation, for a really good price.
Summary: Good foundation, but not for those who want full face coverage.
