I first heard of the Clinique Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask through a friend after a long, tiresome weekend. I was recovering from a 24 hour hangover, and my skin was dry and pasty looking after spending two nights in a smoky, sweaty club that literally sucked the moisture from my skin...and it showed. I had pimples, broken capillaries, enlarged pores, dark circles(from the lack of sleep), and my skin felt tight, dry and rough. I was in need of face therapy, until my friend saw me and bluntly told me i was in need of more than that. So she went to her bathroom and came back to me holding the little green tube of this clinique product. I read the label which read ... Read the complete review

This is a "clay-based treatment for oily pore-clogged skin-under-stress", essentially for oily skin, but also useful for other skin types. It contains menthol so feels cool on application, and leaves skin feeling refreshed and soft. It is not at all drying, but will help brighten the skin, and help in clearing up any pimples you may have. Only a very thin layer is needed, so this product will last you ages, and it only needs 5 minutes to work (apply before brushing teeth in the morning and wash off afterwards!). All of us need a little bit of extra help somedays to look our best, and for those days where your skin just looks tired, blotchy and lifeless, whip out the Clinique Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask. It retails for around £16, and is a real lifesaver. From the moment you spread it on your face, you can feel it start to work. It gives a slight tingling sensation, and has a slight minty smell to it. It has a white clay like texture, and spreads easily over the face (avoiding the eye area). You need to leave it to dry, which takes about 5 minutes or so, but that is just enough time to relax with a cup of tea. Once it is dry, wash it off with lukewarm water, and see ... I'm a firm believer in beauty psychology, ie, if a product looks the business then it probably is. And this tube of face mask certainly does. Entitled 'emergency mask', it gives the impression that you will have perfectly polished skin within the time needed for the product to work - 5 minutes. However, if you have a big date planned, I wouldn't recommend using this as it works by drawing out all the impurities in your skin and thus causing impending spots. However, I feel that this product is better suited to a weekly regime of cleansing. It will tingle slightly when you first apply it, but don't panic. This is just the active ingredients getting to ... Read the complete review
