Advantages: Helps to control dry skin, soft on skin, easy to clean

Disadvantages: £20 seems rather costly!

I absolutely love this foundation brush. I used to buy cheap foundation brushes or economical makeup sponges, but swapping to this you can dramatically see the difference. I was always put off by the idea of investing in an expensive foundation brush, seeing it as perhaps a waste of money. The idea was first brought up to me by a friend saying she couldn't believe I used naff 99p superdrug sponges for makeup, claiming that the sponge soaks up more of the foundation than what goes on your skin.

Reluctantly, I kind of realised her point, so off I popped to buy a replacement; a cheaper boots foundation brush. I can't deny the brush was better than the sponges, but after piling on the layers it was frustrating finding black bristles all over my face, having to pick them off and ruin the eveness of the makeup.

I came across the Clinique foundation brush when I had a visit to the clinique counter. I was on the hunt for some specialist foundation (as dry and flakey skin is my downfall), and was advised to buy clinique foundation. I was introduced to the counter and a woman in a typical white lab coat, who surprisingly gave me a free makeover, so no complaints here! She kindly explained how to manage my dry skin and how a foundation brush with soft bristles will be less harsh against my skin. She also demonstrated how to apply my foundation in a dabbing motion, rather than brushing. After being convinced to buying clinique supermoisture foundation, along with that I complied to buy the foundation brush .

Although it is rather of the upper price range, it is certainly worth it. Especially as my skin is pretty dry and sensitive, this brush really did help apply my makeup in a less disruptive way. It has actually saved me money as well. While using the sponges I often binned after using, I reuse my foundation brush. You don't need to invest in more than one as they are easy to clean. You can simply rinse the brush with a tad of mild shampoo in warm water, leave to dry and dadaar, good as new!

Summary: A very good investment, saved me money and saved my dry skin!
