As a rule I'm not "into" make-up. I possess quite a few make-up products (many of which are far too old to be safe) but, day to day, you're more likely to find me bare-faced than fully made up. However, since giving up work to stay at home and look after my little one, I've felt that there are times when I need to do something for me and when I need to make myself feel a bit "special". Make up seemed an easy way to do this - a bit of effort, obvious results. Clearly I didn't want to overdo things though! I've long been a fan of tinted moisturisers as an alternative to foundation as I find them much lighter and less obvious than most ... Read the complete review

In my continuous struggle to achieve a “flawless” complexion, which for the record I think can only be achieved by extortionately priced air brushing, I decided to have a bit of a splurge on the Clinique counter at my local Boots. For those of you that have never come across Clinique it’s a brand that is stocked in the majority of Boots, Debenhams and Kendals stores throughout the UK. It’s quite a prestigious brand and this is equally reflected in the somewhat high prices of the products on offer. The particular foundation I purchased is called “Gentle Light Make Up” and isn’t strictly a foundation but more of a liquid, illuminating base for the skin. So ... Read the complete review

Clinique Gentle Light Makeup for me is a bit of a wonder foundation. I'm not one for splashing out on expensive products, just because their made by a certain designer. My moral is more to find something that is cost effective but that works a treat so I would never have gone and splashed out £20 on a foundation. I came across Clinique gentle light makeup when I was given a pot that was no longer wanted as it was too dark. It was also too dark for me, but ok for nights out when I'd whacked on the fake tan. I then got brought some as a gift and now I'm an ardent follower and even buy my own :) It truly is worth every single penny... As with Clinique ... Read the complete review

I am a bit of a make-up fiend - as I have mentioned in other skincare reviews, I have less than perfect skin, and am forever looking for products which will hide the flaws whilst not giving me a mask like base. Well, here is such a foundation. I only recently bought it, but it is fantastic. It has staying power, even after a stressful 10 hour day at work. It covers flaws, whilst still letting my freckles (honest a sign of beauty!) show through. It does give a luminous glow to skin, although it is definitely not sparkly. It looks good in both natural and strip light situations (I have yet to test it in candle light). As a pale face, I bought 'Candle ... Read the complete review

I spent years as a teenager trying to find a foundation that was lightweight, non clogging and most importantly didn't make me look like an umpa lumpa. I must have spent hundreds of pounds and tried just as many brands, until I stumbled upon this little gem. I always buy my clinique online as there are always voucher codes and offers. I guessed my skin tone (it would obviously be easier to go instore and have a trained professional help you). I opted for 'Nude Glow'. When the foundation arrived I was shocked at how thin and watery it was, every other foundation i had used had been more of a thick consistency. This was great. It went on really evenly and ...
