Advantages: Nice looking tube, good colour selection and coverage

Disadvantages: Far too sticky texture

I don't tend to wear lipstick too much as I prefer to go for easy to apply coloured lip glosses and balms, which is why I tend to try a lot of varieties and new products. I often go for Clinique make up due to their consistent good quality, though their prices can be steep they are often worth the money, unfortunately this Clinique Glosswear for Lips is just not my cup of tea.

The gloss comes in a transparent, plastic tube with a silver lid, it looks and feels like a quality product and is in my opinion. The see through tube enables you to clearly see the colour of the gloss as well as allowing you to see how much of it is left and for 'scraping the barrel'. The gloss also has Clinique embossing in silver with a brief description on the tube. As with most Clinique products this comes in a slightly bigger than the lip gloss card box and a small insert label with instruction and ingredients. There are no protective sleeves included for the gloss, so the silver lid can get slightly worn looking and chipped after carrying around loose in your bag.

The applicator brush is a firm sponge like pad, oval shaped and diagonal which makes applying the lip gloss to your lips very easy and gives you a good coverage over the lips. This is located in the silver lid which screws back into the plastic tube easily, keeping the gloss safely in the tube. There is no excess gloss or leakages left on the rim of the gloss like some products I have used as it is a pretty air tight container.

I chose the colour 'Sunset' for my lip gloss from Clinique's huge range, of which there are over fifteen available. This colour is described as a bronze with coppery golden shimmer which goes really well for both during the day wear and at night time. The colour group is in the natural and nudes range and looks lovely with summer bronzed skin. There is a beautiful shimmering effect left on your lips for a good duration of time, about 4 hours or so which I have to commend Clinique for and is a plus point for this lip gloss.

The glosswear texture I am not so keen on, I found the gloss to be extremely sticky on application so much so I was slightly worried about pulling or ripping my lips. The consistency reminds me a bit of mozzarella as when I pull the applicator want out there is often a small stringy length of lip gloss attached, which is not so attractive and a bit wasteful to be honest. It may be the shimmering colour addition to the gloss that makes it quite thick so I wouldn't totally write this gloss off for that reason. They feel very slightly more moisturised but generally make my lips feel like they can't breathe! Not the most pleasant of feelings.

The product ingredients contain SPF 15 in all of their colours of Glosswear which means you're lips are protected from sun rays in the summer months. This product quantity comes in a 6ml tube which will set you back £14, that's £23.33 per 10ml of lip gloss which is just too much for this gloss wear in my honest opinion. Available at Boots, Debenhams and all Clinique selling department stores and of course online at Clinique.co.uk.

I use this sporadically when I find it in an old bag as I begrudge throwing away £14, it wasn't really for me but that may just have been the colour I chose.

Summary: I have to be harsh and say only two stars from me
