Advantages: doesn't run, its not gloopy/sticky, very shiny

Disadvantages: expensive

everybody needs a lipgloss. seriously. even if you are a die-hard lipstick fan, put some lipgloss over the top of it and you'll have the most beautiful, shiny pout around.

anyway. glosswear for lips comes in several formulations..but this op is about the sheer shimmers, although i have tried the normal glosswear and it is basically the same but without the glittery bits.

i bought "05 whisper", which is a really light pink colour in the tube. it has bits of...what i can only describe as glitter, although it is much more subtle than glitter! clinique describes it as "micro pearls".

what can i say? well, first of all the quality of the product is the best i've ever seen. it really is the perfect texture. its not too runny or too gloopy, its not at all sticky and unlike cheap glosses i've tried it does not run. i used to be forever wiping just below the bottom of my lip because it was sticky! not attractive!

the colour in the tube is a very very subtle pink. when its on my lips it is almost clear, apart from the "micro pearls" give it a slight pink sheen which is very pretty. the wand applicator is the perfect size and it gets enough on it to cover one lip. i can see this tube lasting quite a while because you dont need alot to get a good gloss. it wears very well too, i don't have to keep re-applying this as it lasts quite a while (3 hours or so). this colour would look great applied over a dark lipstick to lighten the colour, or just to give new life to an old lipstick.

the thing i love most about clinique is that every single product is 100% allergy tested and fragrance free. if you find yourself allergic to something, more often than not its because of the fragrance. i have eczema, and it is SO HARD to find products that don't irritate my lips (and face). i often find that within minutes of applying a cheap lipgloss my lips are red, sore and very itchy. i tried clinique
as my last hope for lip glosses, because it is quite expensive (£9.50 for one tube) but it is SO worth it. saying that, in my opinion, the expense is justified if you want a long lasting, non-irritating, frangrance free, shiny lipgloss. there are many colours to choose from. it comes packaged in a pretty box. the tube itself is see-though so you know how much you have in. it has the "C" symbol on top of the silver wand, and the clinique logo on the side of the tube.
