Advantages: Brings some colour to your lips
Disadvantages: Pricey
For Christmas most of my presents seem to be makeup and perfume as I do not often spoil myself through the year my partner decides at special occasions he will do it for me. This Christmas I received a lot of clinique products and one of these being this high impact lip colour I have it in sunset glow as this is a more natural pinky lip colour but there are many different shades and I am sure a shade to suit everybody.
The lipstick comes in a silver tube with bands around it to make it look stylish. It has a twist function on the bottom of it so that when you twist more of the lipstick comes out the top of the cylinder. It is a little bigger than most lipsticks I have but the bigger holder makes it comfy to sit in the hand while I apply it and looks good if you are carrying it around in your handbag.
The stick itself has a slight curve to it so from the beginning of application it can curve with your lips for easy application. If you continue to apply at a slight angle hen it keeps it curve all the way down the stick and makes for an easier application.
It glides on very easily and it only needs the slightest touch on the lips for it to transfer. Once on your lips the lip stick feels very soft and light so much so you forget it is there . Upon inspection in the mirror it gives a very subtle colour but a big effect. It sits nicely and last for ages evenly and slowly fades towards the end of the day.
It claims to last around 8 hours but I find it last 4 at the most. It can be kept longer by applying lip gloss on the top of it but this only prolongs it by an hour maximum. This is still really good compared to al my other lipsticks and it keeps my lips soft and moist all the time the lipstick is on and for a few hours after too.
It also has special spf 15 which helps protect your lips from the sun which I have no idea if it really works but my lips do remain soft for some time after I wear the lip stick and they are very prone to chapping as soon as the weather gets too hot or too cold.
Yet again Clinique have done it made a brilliant product with lasting effects that is well worth the pricey tag it carries. It cost between £15-£16 but to be honest with the results you get and the time it lasts it pays for itself and I would recommend it to anyone.
